WOW! I know he's a partisan dick-head, but his show's opening tonight has him foaming at the mouth. He can hardly contain himself. He's hot tonight, for some reason. This should be interesting!

5. It was a non-event.
He basically pulled one from the Bush playbook and ran out the clock on Colbert with crap like the wrestling and declaring that he felt he beat Colbert in the debate. So actually, not much of substance got said. Matthews played it for laughs, and tried to keep politics to a minimum.

In that respect, maybe he did kick Colbert's ass.

Glad I didn't watch. I'm thinking Matthew wanted on the show badly and Colbert finally let him on.

8. he seems to be in a manic phase
they're talking about the NYT fiasco, and they're IGNORING the facts of the case

so far they haven't discussed the FACT that this whole thing has been common knowledge for YEARS, and the fact that the WH and right wing media enablers will NOT address this at all

Matthews is certainly included here, because he KNOWS the reality of the situation, and allows liars like OBeirne and Smerconish to blather on and on, unchallenged, merely grinning along and telling them that they're the best of the best

that was more than enough for me

9. Tom Oliphant is excellent
I thought I would be holding my breath because he's so polite. I figured he'd get mowed over by the obnox Kate O'B. But Tom is choosing his words so well. He's been succinct and having great input on the topic of Guantanamo. I like how he keeps pointing out what the others are overlooking or have forgotten. You go, Tom!

You can tell he's such a good writer.

11. He's full of himself for guesting on Colbert & he THINKS he "won".
This is not a quote from today. It's observational about his attitude today.

13. I posted this yesterday about Tweety's "performance" on Colbert
I have visions of Tweety every night before going to bed staring into his bathroom mirror and saying to himself, "I am relevant. I am too relevant." On Colbert, he simply made an ass of himself.

I wrote yesterday -

I watched Colbert last night and thought Tweety came across as a complete, giggling asswipe who contributed nothing at all to the show. Why was he on the show - no book, lame show, Tweets needs to go up against Crazy Zell and leave the professionals alone. He was bland, boring, and dense. He even had to proclaim to himself on camera that he was ahead on points against Colbert. Do what? He practically broke his arm patting himself on his back - just like he does on his show. Not feeling the love so he has to stroke himself to feel good.

Colbert didn't even bother to tee up his best schick against Tweety - just passed the time until the end of the show because the Tweetmeister was just so out classed that Colbert took pity on him. Tweety is just as dull as dishwater off Nerfball as he is on.
Thank you Senator Harry Reid!

14. And last night Colbert skewered him in his alter persona
I only saw it when Matthews played it on today's Hardball. CM tried to take the high road by giving his guests french fries to munch. But it just didn't work for me. Colbert can now lace into the "french" aspect. CM needs to leave it alone. He wanted on the Colbert Report because it's the hip show to be a guest. And he flopped miserably. I think he went on to try and get more viewers for Hardball in the right demographic. It won't work well enough to boost his ratings. Anyone can see that his politics are too far right for Colbert's viewers.
