VALENCIA, Spain (Reuters) - Pope Benedict, starting a trip to Spain where gay marriage became legal last year, said on Saturday that there are certain things to which the Church must just say "no".

The 79-year-old pope arrived in this coastal city to close an international meeting of Catholic families and comfort residents of Valencia still mourning a train accident that killed 42 people on Monday.

Speaking to reporters on his plane from Rome, the pope was asked about the gay marriage law and other changes in Spanish society that have been challenged by the Roman Catholic Church.

The pope said he wanted to stress the positive aspects of family life in Spain and elsewhere but added that there were some problems that could not be ignored.

2. Institutions that are 2,000 years old
tend to change slowly.

I'm shocked the Pope didn't change his mind :sarcasm:

5. oh my yes -- highly educated people should be excused
their vicious, violence inducing bigotry -- cause the poor things are slow to change.

maybe you should go hold his poor, bejeweled put upon hand -- critics are sooo mean to him, poor thing.

he just doesn't know any better -- does he?

3. This from an old dodderer who wears a dress and is a virgin?
Or, at least, claims to be a virgin. And, hangs around with other old guys in dresses and ruby red slippers?

6. Though apparently pedophilia
is one of those things that they don't need to say "no" to. Kinda fucking crazy, isn't it?
