DJ Distressed American Mixing It Up With His Cut "Can't Get Fooled Again"

People are always saying that there is not enough protest music available out there. Allow me to lend a hand in that department.

I just got some audio editing software as I need it for the Flash work I'm doing now.

Of course, there is no reason that I can't produce some protest music while I'm at it.

This is my first tune ever. It is a warning against being fooled into yet another disastrous war in N. Korea or Iran. It has a nice mellow hip hop beat and uses clips of the infamous "fool me once" Bushism mixed with lie after lie from the first fooling. Keep an ear out for my favorite, the theorized Iraqi navy's chemical attack with UAV's on the American coast :rofl:. That was a classic that no one ever talks about these days. It ends with a warning that we "can't be fooled again".

With regard to the audio file, it seems that something like this has been done before. Others have also created montages of Bush audio clips using the same techniques that highlight things Bush has said which are now debunked... or putting two contrasting (or conflicting) quotes side-by-side so that the hypocrisy (or the flip-flopping) is easy to see.

Olberman does that sometimes on his show.

The background music was interesting. That was probably the best part of it. The electric organ aspect of it reminded me a little of the "disco" version of the "2001: A Space Odyssey" theme. Did you compose that yourself, or was it from one of those royalty-free music collections?

23. It was a remixed version of a royalty free loop.

Made some cuts and looped it a bit for fun before adding the other layers. I actually plan to use this as the base of an animation. I just may take a while to finish that. I have a bunch of stuff on my plate right now. But, I think a mix of the words and images to emphasize them will be a pretty effective message all around.

Sorry about only having the .wav file at first. I need to download and install a plugin for my new software to do the conversions. Another of the things on the plate.
