Bush backs away from public spat with Putin
ST PETERSBURG, Russia (Reuters) - President Bush backed away on Saturday from a public confrontation over Russia's democracy with President Vladimir Putin, adhering to a pledge not to lecture the Kremlin leader......

Bush said it came up at their social dinner on Friday night.

"I talked about my desire to promote institutional change in parts of the world like Iraq, where there is a free press and free religion, and I told him that a lot of people in our country, you know, would hope that Russia would do the same thing," Bush said.

He quickly added: "I totally understand, however, that there will be a Russian-style democracy. I don't expect Russia to look like the United States. As Vladimir pointedly reminded me last night, 'We have a different history, different traditions."'

Putin pounced on the reference to Iraq. "We of course don't want to have a democracy like the one in Iraq, to be honest," he deadpanned, to laughter from Russian-speaking listeners.

Upon hearing the translation of Putin's remark, Bush interjected: "Just wait."

A laughingstock. We're a laughing stock! Congress actually tasked bush with lecturing Putin on democracy! "Just wait" he says. For, you know, *history*. He's gone to war with another part of speech: The Present.

6. I abhor Bush...but I hate to see the U.S. A, become the joke of the
world. Especially by Russia, who we fought so very long in a cold war.

Bush has taken the country that used to be the most respected, and THE MOST FEARED and turned it into a ball of cotton candy. Into Swiss Cheese...full of holes. This war in Iraq shows all of our vulnerabilities. A group of semi-organized rag-tag rebels is fighting with the greatest army in the world and what makes it so bad, these rebels are holding their own in the fight!

I am against the war and always have been. I, too, lived in the fantasy that no other country or group would ever dare attack us. Bush put us into a position were they not only tried to attack us...they succeeded. So much for THAT balloon...just stick a pin it it.

Condi Rice and Dick Cheney have done immeasurable harm, yet both are utterly convinced that theirs is the proper path.

Anyone with the real news and a brain outside the country can see they staged a coup with the help of our fascist media and the 5 extremely insane court deadly jesters.

Does that mean that he'll move Russia up on the list of countries where he's going to send other people's kids to die? Is Russia next, or will it be Iran, Syria, North Korea, Lebanon, or maybe...Switzerland, yeah Switzerland, they haven't been in a war for a long, long time; we can kick their asses, right George? Or maybe we should start with Andorra, or Monaco, or Lichtenstein, just as a warmup (and, well, because we really haven't got the conventional military wherewithal to take on any real power at this point...but we sure can bomb the shit out of 'em from miles in the sky!)

14. And watch our pimps and pimpesses skirting the issue and telling us
things that make it appear that he performed well.

I remember yesterday - with anger - pimps and pimpesses smeared Al Gore for his stiff neck, woodeness, brown shirts, the lock-box, and they filled their lies about his non-lies.

Pimps and pimpesses who make their mortgage money through Murdoch, General Electric, Time-Warner, Rev. Moon will continue to smear Gore and elevate George, our pitiful George. He tries, I think he really tries, but he is one mixed up soul. They have to coach, tutor, educate him for the role and don't always succeed because of his bull-headedness of remaining the frat cheerleader who morphed to cowboy, nothing more. It must be pretty awful to learn everyday that Cheney is really the President.

Yes, their code word for Cheney, Edgar (for Edgar McCarthy) is accurate.

Can you believe the amount of taxpayer money that goes into prepping him and supporting him?

Transcript: Bush in Germany with Chancellor Merkel: On Iran, North Korea, Lebanon.

July 13, 2006

PRESIDENT BUSH: Chancellor, thank you very much. Thanks for the invitation. This is a beautiful part of the world, and Laura and I are so honored to come to your constituency and meet some of the friendly people who live here. I remember you coming to the Oval Office, and you said, if you are coming to Germany, this is the part of Germany I want you to see. And now I can see why you suggested it. I'm looking forward to the feast you're going to have tonight. I understand I may have the honor of slicing the pig
.

And I guess that's about all -- we discussed a lot of things, in other words. And thank you for having me. I'm looking forward to that pig tonight. (Laughter.)

Q A question addressed to you both. You talked about the Middle East, and what is your assessment of the military action of Israel in Lebanon? The French Foreign Minister already said it is disproportionate. Does that give you cause for Europe or the United States to intervene?

And apart from the pig, Mr. President, what sort of insights have you been able to gain as regards East Germany? -- (inaudible) --

Steve.

Q Thank you, sir. Just to follow up --

PRESIDENT BUSH: Follow up on?

Q On both of these. Does it concern you that the Beirut airport has been bombed? And do you see a risk of triggering a wider war?

And on Iran, they've, so far, refused to respond. Is it now past the deadline, or do they still have more time to respond?

PRESIDENT BUSH: I thought you were going to ask me about the pig.

Q I'm curious about that, too. (Laughter.)

PRESIDENT BUSH: The pig? I'll tell you tomorrow after I eat it.

22. You're welcome, teryang. IMHO, * crossed the Rubicon this week.
We have hit the point of no return with what is happening in Lebanon, Israel and Syria, with the Decider hiding out, sucking on his barbecue-stained fingers.

No one in this world knows what will happen next. Not a good way to be for any of us.

One thing I am sure of, and that is that we will not even BEGIN to turn all of this around for the better until we remove these bastards from power.
