Guantanamo is a travesty, a place of torture, illegal detention, degradation, shredded human rights and utter despair. It is a flagrant insult to Lady Liberty and all that this country claims to stand for. Guantanamo must be immediately closed and the cruelty stopped.
When I was a child growing up, I always got an earful about how bad the "Ruskies" were for their gulags. Well, what do our gulags have to say about us?
I was always taught that America was better than that. Now is the time to prove it.
