The Mess-o-Potamian Mess we have now.. Memory
Edited on Sat Jul-15-06 05:59 PM by SoCalDem
These maps exist.. There are people alive today who still have pictures of where they lived as children.. They KNOW they were there.. Empirical outsiders moved their countries away from them..

They want it back..

That's all it is..in the purest sense

3. Thanks for these
I've talked with fundies who say the term "Palestine" was coined in the 1970s. Too many people don't know the history of this region after WWI, and how the British and French acted in regards to the people of the region.

4. It is truly sad that destiny was tampered with. How can these people
be expected to forget what was theirs?

If someone took my property I would do anything to get back at them.

5. We ALL would.. look at the Native Americans, the Hawaiians
the people from Bikini Island, from just about ANYWHERE.. When a population is forceably removed or coerced out of their "homeland", they never "forget it"..

I often muse about how differnt history would be if anti-semitism had not been so rampant at the end of WWII.. there was NO reason why the UK and the US could not have easily welcomed any/all of the Jewish refugees.

The St Louis debacle pretty much said it all about us...

Taking something away from someone, just to give it to someone else, is not always the best policy..
