1. Bush is riding his bike. He needs to get on with his life. Are the
folks in Lebanon in any more danger than the people at the Superdome? Hell no! Leave our fearless leader alone! Why do you hate freedom?

2. They're planning on doing an "air bridge" to get them out.
Fortunately, air bridging is nothing like air guitar.

4. I don't know. 25,000 Americans in Beirut. Last I heard our closest
ships were in the Red Sea, so it may take a while, if it's actually underway (?).

I see France and Great Britain are sending ships to the Lebanese coast. Very overtly, publicly. I wish we would make some kind of statement about evacuation other than the lame "plans are being made" line being played out for the press. If it's happening, it definitely doesn't have to be a secret.

Previous Administrations would have sent diplomatic envoys to the key players already and very publicly announced evacuation operations. Short term solutions, obviously, but lives may be saved with some kind of timely response, diplomatically and logistically.

We'll see.

7. Harm to the other is the bush way
Harm to the other is the bush way,
evil be done to hide the deeper darkish shame,
Tie down the freedom in darker shades of gray,
bombing bad fun, hardly a video game.

Beat up the poor in to a selfish game,
dropping bombs and coffins on to everyone,
The drugs war unwon, rather totally lame,
stopping the good, fear comes from a gun.

Guns aimed at every good persons throat
Bush got no vote, so now he can gloat.

Winning elections is the only way,
don't count their votes if they arn't gray.
