For Those Wondering, 148 Dead in Lebanon & 23 Dead in Israel
in this wonderful Rapture of the neo-freaks...

<snip>

World powers -- fearing the violence could spiral out of control -- began taking their first action, producing a framework for ending the crisis as a UN envoy landed in Beirut.

But both Israel and Hezbollah signalled that the gloves had come off in an already brutal battle that has killed at least 148 in Lebanon and 23 in Israel.

7. yes: Israel bombs Palestinian Foreign Ministry
Typical Israel, carry out strike on Gaza while the world watches something else...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060716/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_palestinians

An Associated Press reporter on the scene saw clouds of smoke rising from the already damaged building after the strike by an Israeli warplane. At least five people were injured, rescue workers said.

The Israeli military refused to comment.

The huge blast collapsed an eight-story wing of the building and damaged houses in a wide area around the ministry. Black smoke covered the area as police vehicles and ambulances raced in, sirens blaring.

The wounded were in nearby houses. The ministry was thought to be empty at the time of the strike, 1:20 a.m. local time.

Israel bombed the same building on Thursday, saying it was used to plan terror attacks. The Palestinian foreign minister is Mahmoud Zahar, a top Hamas leader.

Israel has been attacking Gaza since June 28, three days after Hamas-linked militants tunneled under the border and attacked an Israeli army post at a Gaza crossing, killing two soldiers and capturing a third.

... I heard nine dead on TV. :(

6. Don't forget the turn-off of electricity in Gaza, either.
or the bombing of roads or infrastructure.
All human life is precious, so all the loss should be mourned.
The loss of life will also come through the lack of safe water, lack of sewage treatment that is a result of Israeli bombing attacks.

poverty is compounded by lack of transportation of goods will mean more loss of life (and even when it doesn't it means very difficult living conditions.

Based on thousands of years of history, I'm sad to report
that there appears to be no lower limit. :-(

It is funded by Coors and Scaife. It features James Ennes from Swiftboat veterans. I guess they're the "new left".

Israel's campaign has killed 179 people, all but 13 of them civilians, and wounded more than 500. The dead include seven Canadians killed in a strike on a southern village on Sunday.

Twenty-four Israelis have been killed in the fighting, including 12 civilians hit in rocket attacks
