Fred Phelps and his band of freaks were in my town today.
They were protesting at a soldier's funeral here in Vinita Oklahoma.

These people truely are the scum of the earth. The fucking losers even had little kids with them as human shields. I can't beleive how sick these people are!

I'm so pissed I can't think straight

2. No diplomacy here
Fuck Phelps and his merry little band. I do not advocate violence, but sooner or later someone is going to beat the living hell out of one or more members of that group and it is doubtful any tears will be shed. I hope they didn't drive down property values in your town.

16. They were there
Marines from across the country attended the funeral, many on motorcycles. Those bikes formed part of a 4-mile to 5-mile long procession through Vinita. Many businesses closed for the day, and flags were draped throughout the city.

25. Thanks
It's really hard looking at the family in pain, but the reward of doing it is beyond words.

17. If they didn't have cops and children there,
Someone would have at least tried to kill them. So it's good the police were there, because they prevented someone from going to jail for murder or assault. Phelps isn't worth it.

as they are not even remotely close to being ones

Yes, they are the scum of the earth of the worse type. Thinking themselves righteous they are so unrighteous, it's puke inducing

7. How is Vinita these days?
I used to live in Claremore, when I was goin to Rogers State. Miss the place, from time to time.

As for Phelps, he is without a doubt the most pathetic excuse for a clergyman this country has ever seen. His only followers are a few relatives, no more. I wonder how long before he doesn't even have them following him? Although, on second thought, he probably has them brainwashed. He's been doing this sort of thing for many years now. Wonder where he gets the money to do all of his travelling? I read where he only has about twenty church members, and like I said, they're all related.

11. At the risk of starting up the "gifted" argument again...
I read your last line as "they're all retarded." And it really worked for me. :D

Honestly, though, the state should take those children away from them for such disgusting child abuse. Poor kids. :(

9. Take some deep breaths, calm down, get some exercise
pour yourself a stiff one if need be. We do want you thinking clearly. Normally its the wings nuts that are so angry they can't think straight--and it shows.

Lot's of us here get angry on a regular basis. There's so much to be angry about. But it is the other guys that are most generally to angry to think, and we should be able to get an advantage out of that.

Watch when Phelps turns around and sees this thing. He nearly falls over!

The video also gives you an inside look at the Phelps gang. You should pity them. (after you laugh at them of course)

14. ROFL!
That clip was priceless. Absolultely priceless. A pink RV with "Sodomobile" on it. Moore is a comedic genius. Poor Fred...one of the guys would get too close..."Don't touch me!" Whatsamatta Fred, are you a-scairt yer gonna get COOTIES? Truly pathetic. Too bad the children he's brainwashing can't be removed from his nefarious tentacles and placed into protective custody....what a first-class assclown.

Good grief that was funny....thanks for posting that!

Big tarps. Get some big tarps and some volunteers to hold them in front of the crazy clan. Leave one side blank - that faces the mourners. The other side, paint photo-realistic (softcore. no peenies or insertion shots) scenes of Fred having gay sex with assorted guys. Let him try to sue his way out of that. O8)

EDIT: better yet, old Fred in loving embraces and kisses with assorted men...

12. Phelps Great For Political Education
I'm getting increasingly cynical and am thinking that Fred Phelps is good for political education. Oklahoma is strongly part of the southern Bible Belt, and the thought of self-described "religious conservatives" gloating in the deaths of American servicemen ought to jolt the thinking of a few of Oklahoma's citizens. Exposure to Phelps and Co. might inspire at least a few of our neighbors to the North to think of where right-wing extremism is taking them and the rest of the country.

15. Phelps may be religiously conservative but I don't think he is
right wing politically speaking...he's no fan of Bush or the repubs. He ran for office as a dem some years back, and he had alot of dem politicos as friends...though he turned against many when he believed they supported homosexuality. He actually attended the first Clinton inguration as a guest of Gore. Though Phelps may be actively protesting gays....don't think there aren't alot of evangelicals particularly in "black" churches, where preachers talk the same line...and the pulpit still votes democratic. We have seen those churches rally against gay rights here in Maryland. Don't confuse right wing politics with consevative religious sects....all the repubs have dones is exploit these issues. Hopefully we will never walk that same line to keep votes.

24. I'll tell you one thing though: Republicans never had any issue with him
until he started picketing soldier's funerals.

Before that, when he was harassing hate crime victims, they didnt' care at all.

Hell, some probably agreed with him.

26. I wouldn't be surprised...
but my point was that religious conservatives can be found on both sid3s of the aisle...ours tend to also be minorities who favor liberal economic policies but conservative social policy.
