Ann Coulter Admits to Sending White Powder to the NYTs
Can I say the “C” word on the internets?

“So glad to hear that The New York Times got my letter and that your friend at the Times thinks I’m funny,” she wrote back. “Good luck in journalism and please send me your home address so we can stay in touch, too.

“P.S. If we get hit again, don’t forget to ask the NYT if they consider themselves responsible since they have repeatedly exposed classified government programs designed to prevent another terrorist attack.”

2. It's not a matter of what Ann Coulter knows
It's a matter of who listens to her.

And the answer is more people than I am comfortable with.

5. Has her confession been reported to the appropriate
authorities?

Seriously, she's taking responsibility for using a scare tactic to harass. Shouldn't that be investigated?

10. As far as I know, ANYONE found to have sent a nondescript
white powder to ANYONE, through the mail, has been arrested and prosecuted! This dumb bro.. admitted to doing it! It's beyond believability that she would somehow be exempt!

11. If this is true then Ann Coulter needs to be arrested and Tried
for Terrorizing the NYTimes. What's the difference between holding up a bank with a fake gun and a real gun? According to many laws in many states - NONE.

The effect is the same, I know they now have laws that include the wording TERRORISTIC or TERRORIZING in them, and I believe it's a Felony.

This needs to be reported to the authorities if true, and the witnesses need to come forth and bring charges against her for this, as far as they knew it MAY have been Anthrax or any other dangerous substance. Isn't this some violaton of any Postal Statues?

Seriously, AnnThrax Coulter Needs to be arrested for this, it's not funny, it's not a Joke, and if it's not a crime I'll eat my hat. I'm going to contact some legal pals and see if they know what statutes apply.

This should be made into a HUGE issue - if she wants attention then she should get it, in the form of an arrest warrant, and incarceration.

Just because she's a public figure doesn't call for exoneration, any more than if some Joe Blow did it to his boss or co-workers.

Send this off to Olbermann at least.

12. Similar article on threats
Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 10:08 AM by JABBS
made by Melanie Morgan and Coulter.

The question I have is: what can people do to send the message loud and clear to MSNBC (where Morgan regularly appears) and Fox News (where Coulter regularly appears) to say that they can do better than promote people who make death threats to journalists?

From the article linked above:

However, just as a manager doesn't appreciate someone yelling fire in a crowded theater, and perhaps tells the yeller they are no longer welcome, isn't it about time that MSNBC and Fox, respectively, tell Morgan and Coulter to take their hate-mongering elsewhere?

Certainly there are other conservative pundits available. There are conservatives who can strongly advocate positions. There are conservatives who have large followings and can help MSNBC and Fox get ratings. There are even ones who look good on television -- which it's been suggested is a reason that Coulter, for one, is popular.

But among the field of conservative pundits, I would imagine most of them have not advocated death for U.S. journalists.

get off on committing a terrorist act against fellow Americans? If this is true I want her arrested and put on trial. There is no excuse.

If she can't sell any books or draw a crowd, at least she will get 3 hots and a cot in the can.

17. Does anyone have Bernstein's email address?
He should be sent this link (https://tips.fbi.gov/) to the fbi's crime tip page and report her...no, I'm not kidding. I'd do it but he has "first hand" knowledge of this whereas mine is only through the "internets" as a 3rd or 4th party observer.

18. She's only trying to emulate her hero's in the administration.
I hope people will take this as a reminder that the anthrax mailer has never been charged.

With regard to all the 911 conspiracy theories floating around. I don't understand why people are looking for an American government connection to 911 when the anthrax trail leads right back to a government laboratory. Why do people endlessly parse over wild claims of explosives being planted or empty planes or missiles downing jetliners? If you want to talk about false flag attacks why not talk about the one that is the most obvious?

Our government is responsible for the security of the bio-weapons it possesses. Weaponized anthrax from our own army weapons lab was mailed out to Democrats and Media outlets killing 9 people and exposing countless others. Why do so many people accept so easily that some lone individual probably committed the anthrax attacks?

19. Didn't the NYT close down their operations and an employee in the mailroom
was tested for anthrax? That employee undoubtedly will not think this is cute. If it were me, I'd sue her ass for all the fear and worry. Also, NYT should sue her for all the manhours lost because of disruption to their operations. Finally, it was an act of terror and there should be criminal charges. Felony even.

20. Didn't see where the NYT shut down operations, but it did impact the
stock market!

Emergency vehicles and an ambulance responded to the newspaper's offices on 43rd Street and Mathis said the man who opened the envelope was taken to hospital for precautionary tests and treatment.

The incident contributed to US stocks extending their losses.
