US Airways to add advertising to airsick bags
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 08:08 AM by FSogol
"Looking to boost revenue, US Airways will begin selling advertising on its airsickness bags in September.

The Tempe-based carrier already sells space on its tray tables and napkins.

"We were the first airline to do tray table advertising, the first airline to offer the Bill Me Later program and the first airline to utilize a gift card, so now we are venturing into a new way to boost revenues," said spokesman Phil Gee."

I feel this is an awesome idea! To get started, the following advertisements should appear on airsick bags as soon as possible:

Political ads propping up the corrupt GOP especially ones with fake cowboys and ones invoking 911 (George Felix Allen Junior this means you)
    Previews for Rob Schneider movies
    Ads for reality tv shows
    Anything involving Paris Hilton

1. On the inside or the outside of the bag?
I suppose it would depend on when they expect you to read them.

2. They don't even feed us anymore,
why airsick bags?

I hope someone does a "Fight Club" on them, substituting their advert bags with something more clever

6. Both a blessing and a curse.
On the one hand, there has always been something in those meals that made me sneeze for the next hour.

On the other hand, it would figure that this vegetarian would end up sitting next to someone who brought on a smelly pork burger dripping in grease.

3. Wrong airline in your ttitle
Your title say "American Airlines" but the story refers to "US Airways"

Big difference.

4. Great opportunity for RW candidates to advertise. The make me sick anyway
It'll be nice to hurl on the picture of someone like Rick Santorum.

How about on some advertising on the toilet paper, too.

8. So I'm about to puke and I see a ;pic of Rushbo pimping Viagra?
That ought to bring up yesterday's lunch for 40% of the passengers. (Hey, I wouldn't put it past him to do that for a few more bucks.)

9. That is going to backfire ...
because (more) people are going to begin collecting the various ads, not to mention error prints.
In the end they are going to spend more on bags, than the money they collect on the ads.

Cheers
Drifter
