Karl Rove to attend Kennedy fundraiser

MINNEAPOLIS - President Bush's closest political adviser will fit in an appearance at a fundraiser for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kennedy.

A Kennedy campaign spokeswoman says Karl Rove will appear at a fundraiser Friday night at an Excelsior home on Lake Minnetonka.

Rove already is scheduled to appear at a Friday fundraiser for state Sen. Michele Bachmann (BAHK'-muhn), the G-O-P endorsed candidate for Kennedy's congressional seat.

Those attending Bachmann's event will pay 250 dollars each for lunch at Stillwater's Water Street Inn. They can have photographs taken with Rove for one-thousand dollars per couple.

Here in Davenport, IA at a private residence. No press allowed, $500.00 just to get in. And several of us decided that we had to protest so we walked from a local park to near the house the event was held at. The police wouldn't let us anywhere near the place, of course, and, get this, they were confiscating STICKS! Flags with sticks. Boy, that's some dangerous weapon. And the worst part of all? We, the hard working taxpayers had to pay for all of this. I bet taxpayers up there will have to foot the bill as well, even though rove isn't a government official, technically speaking. Seems to me there are better things to spend taxpayers money on.
