Brad Blog
http://www.bradblog.com/

This may seem trivial and I would not even mention it if I didn't like the site but...THOSE DAMN COLORS and the layout suck wind.

C'mon Brad, so much good content in a lousy looking shell.

2. I rarely visit because yellow fonts hurt my eyes.
And the writing is too small -- I'm still in my thirties, too, so I'd guess it's even harder for older folks to read.

Otherwise it's an interesting site.

4. agree
A straight forward setup with black text on white and some nice blue tones would be much better.

Yellow on green is sickening. IMHO.

10. put a couple a bucks into it? - how about you?
Sorry, but you apparently are not thinking about what it is like to do this sort of activism.

Brad jumped into this issue over 18 months ago and to the best of my knowledge is working that site and the electronic voting issue specifically on a full time basis. He was an actor and did various other things to make a living prior to this. Now he travels, performs research, and is fighting the good fight for no money.

If you feel he should put money into the site, then you should put your cash on the table. He is more than happy to accept donations.

I ran VerifiedVoting.org in 2003/2004 and one of the reasons I am no longer in that fight on a full time basis is because I simply was unable to hold out financially. The donations people gave us was a joke, especially given the level of the crisis, and the sort of tangible progress our organization made.

So, with all due respect, either put up or shut up. It's that simple. Not trying to pick a fight, but you need to seriously think about what Brad has subjected himself to by engaging himself in this effort.

Nuff said...

8. On your browser go to tools, internet options, accessibility, ignore color
on page. That will take care of it.

ALso, can you make a suggestion to the owner of the blog to change the colors. If they have enought requests, surely they will change it.

9. You're right.
I love the site (the content at least) and I am VERY grateful to Brad for all of the good he's doing, but the design and coloration are annoying and at times hard to read.

This isn't an unimportant nitpick. If people are put off by the appearance they will be less likely to stay and read the site. If they have difficulty finding content they'll be less likely to even try to find it.

The design needs to be easy and intuitive and the colors need to be easy on the eye and easy to read.

I'm not a web designer so I don't have any specific suggestions but surely he can find someone who is and who is willing to donate some time and effort to the site.

There are probably DUers with the necessary skills who may be willing to help.

12. If he removed his name that is so redundant and everywhere
on the page he'd save a lot of bandwidth.. I think I counted 46 "Brad"s on the page once, that's a little overboard IMHO.. :)

It's hard to navigate, and the colors are too damn hard on the eyes, but hey, it's his site.. sometimes I think it has the look that he's more into promoting himself than his causes, and that's a put off too - I'm sure that's not the case, but it looks like that when you first come upon the site..

But doesn't he have many sites? Also Velvet Revolution, etc?

I was once invited to have my site "featured" on his, but when I went to have a look I saw dozens or tens of dozens of sites, and that's really not much of a promotion, so I sort of bowed out on that, plus there are some folks on there I'd rather not be associated with despite all the good intentions - when I see an article that seems to be promoting Bev Harris AT ALL, I simply FLEE..

I've posted here before on his threads asking him to take a look at the Bev Harris "history" here (and on other major sites) and maybe rething being associated with her, dunno if he noticed or not..

The cause is just, so I'm glad he is pounding away at it, I'd just at least back off on so many "Brads" everywhere :)
