The two lowest ranked are REPUBLICANS: Taft in Ohio (as usual) 17% approval and Murkowski in Alaska with 21% approval.

1. Yeah, but the two highest ranking are also Republicans...
John Hoeven of N. Dakota and Jon Huntsman of Utah each enjoy a 76 percent approval rating -- sometimes, you really can put lipstick on a pig.

4. yes, republicans have 6 in top ten
but from normally republican states as well: ND, Utah, Nebraska, and South Dakota, but they also have two from normally Dem states--Rell in CT is very popular and Lingle in Hawaii. Our top four Dems are Manchin in WVA, Lynch in NH, Schwitzer in MT and Freudenthal in WY.

7. My dem in a blue state is not doing so well right now (Granholm)
but I think things will change after Labor Day. The voters haven't heard the whole truth about the challenger yet. Once they realize how scary DeVos and Amway is, Granholm should be able to eek out a narrow victory, if Detroit gets out the vote again. It'll be close, though, however you look at it.
