WHoo hoo! It aired during one of the busiest evening drive times in the year.

2. Wow, the finish was fantastic
"It's time for you people in the media, even though you are owned by huge corporations which tend to be... let me think... conservative, to quit bending over backwards to prove you are not liberal by refusing to be accurate and/or relevant. Being accurate does not mean you are liberal. Being accurate just means you're not stabbing democracy in the back."

3. The closing is just perfect
It's time for you people in the media, even though you are owned by huge corporations which tend to be... let me think... conservative, to quit bending over backwards to prove you are not liberal by refusing to be accurate and/or relevant. Being accurate does not mean you are liberal. Being accurate just means you're not stabbing democracy in the back.

But if you're afraid to be accurate and/or relevant, then I, Tim Bedore, confess to the Lindbergh baby kidnapping. If you fly me somewhere in first class, I'll tell you all about it.

If NPR put on more commentary such as this, they wouldn't keep losing their audience.

25. I've not listened to NPR since 2003 and their
constant cheerleading for the Iraq war. One of my friends says they have turned around but I don't believe it.

29. It hasn't turned around in my market
It isn't as bad as FauxNews, but it is a very clearly GOP leaning station.

38. Actually, I think the SD stations are
much more liberal than you might imagine, and I've enjoyed listening to it since I've moved to this state. It's actually far more liberal than the damned Ohio NPR stations.

9. Marketplace is American Public Media, not NPR
there is a differance. APM is the national syndication arm of Minnesota Public Radio. MPR via APM distributes as much if not more content to public radio stations versus NPR.

This editorial independence comes via Minneapolis.

They have a web form.

Let's encourage this behavior, and SHOW some love, which is better than some some love, eh?

-Hoot

Edit to add my note:

I heard Mr. Beldore's commentary to close Marketplace tonight while driving, and I nearly crashed my car because my jaw was hitting the accelerator.

Thank you for so forcefully and lucidly stating that which has been painfully obvious to truth seekers for some time now.

Bravo! Mr. Beldore, will your next commentary focus on the felonious behavior the 'liberal media' has enabled? I can hardly wait.

31. Check out the one from the previous day, too
Clive Crook explains how you are more likely to realize the "American Dream" in France or Canada than America anymore.

Well, on that measure, America is now less the land of opportunity than France, than Germany, than Sweden, Canada, Finland, Norway and Denmark. The only other rich economy that the U.S. outscores in this respect is — you guessed it — the UK. Abolish the estate tax and America will be a serious contender for the bottom of the opportunity league.

Maybe the NPR bosses left really early for the holiday weekend.

some of the commentaries at the end of the Marketplace shows, some of them really rip the repubs and acknowledge the devastating impact of their economic policies on all but the rich, especially the middle and lower classes.

He was a radio jock on a Sacramento rock station back in the 80's. He later went into stand-up, and now he's identified as a 'humorist'. Way to go Tim!!!
