I'm not joking. Woods basically said he would have nuked everybody, so any response less than that was restraint.

he claimed he saw atta et al practicing for 911 on a flight he took and that he told the fbi to no avail

if it's true he's prob. mad w. grief that he couldn't stop what happened

if it's not true he's been insane w. some attention-seeking disease for an awfully long time

maybe he should just stick to his busy schedule of promoting hollywood poker and his celebrity poker blog :eyes:

6. it's true, according to Seymour Hersh

"Several weeks before the attacks, the actor James Woods was in the first-class section of a cross-country flight to Los Angeles. Four of his fellow-passengers were well-dressed men who appeared to be Middle Eastern and were obviously travelling together. "I watch people like a moviemaker," Woods told me. "As in that scene in 'Annie Hall'"-—where Woody Allen and Diane Keaton are sitting on a bench in Central Park speculating on the personal lives of passers-by. "I thought these guys were either terrorists or F.B.I. guys," Woods went on. "The guys were in synch—dressed alike. They didn't have a drink and were not talking to the stewardess. None of them had a carry-on or a newspaper. Nothing.

"Imagine you're at a live-music event at a small night club and you're standing behind the singer. Everybody is clapping, going along, enjoying the show— and there's four guys paying no attention. What are they doing here?" Woods concluded that the men were "casing" the plane. He said that his concern led him to hang on to his cutlery after lunch. He shared his worries with a flight attendant. "I said, 'I think this plane is going to be hijacked.' I told her, 'I know how serious it is to say this,' and asked to speak to the captain." The flight attendant, too, was concerned. The plane's first officer came over immediately and assured Woods that he and the captain would keep the door to the cockpit locked. The remainder of the trip was bumpy but uneventful, and Woods recalled laughingly telling his agent, who asked about the flight, "Aside from the terrorists and the turbulence, it was fine.

8. James Woods is a nutcase like Jeff "skunk" baxter, imagining he's inserted
himself into world dramas.

Woods is a psychotic lunatic and a crappy actor.

No one takes him seriously or wants to be around him. He's off the deep end.

He didn't see shit on a plane.

37. lol yeah woods "reported" this crap all right.. but none of it's been
confirmed.

Let's see the tickets, the boarding passes and the names of these guys.

And let's have the dates they flew on and the flight numbers.

Show us anything that could actually be verified, because I'm sure not going to take Woods' word for it.

Woods is a certifiable nut case.

In his professional opinion as - an actor? Of course! Actors are known far and wide for their abilities in investigative law enforcement techniques.

7. James Woods is a talented actor...
& I used to think he was kind of a hip, sharp-witted person, too. He is now one of those sad, mystifying cases of a once-intelligent celebrity driven insane by the Bush administration-- he has literally thought himself into some kind of monomaniacal mental cul de sac, & we may never see him come back out. Regrettable.

36. Here's some trivia: Woods scored 1580 on the SAT's.
YEARS AGO, that came out in an interview on Jay Leno. Leno asked, "Is it true you scored 1580 on the SAT's"? Woods said yes, but didn't make anything of it.

11. This is painful to hear
Because he's done a lot of great work, and he really IS a talented actor. But like the poster above me said, it is a shame to see what he has deteriorated to. If he's talking this kind of insanity, someone who cares about him should get the poor lad some HELP.

Woods isn't the only actor this has happened to though. It seems the events of the past five years and the environment it has left us with has driven many to madness.

Dennis Miller is one of the more prime examples. Bruce Willis to a lesser extent (Although he was on shaky ground to begin with). Ron Silver is another.

But what has happened to Woods is breathtaking.

These are not sane times we live in.

AT ALL.

16. Oh I SO agree
Although Brad Pitt truly out shined him in that one.

I still have a soft spot for Die Hard With A vengeance, ONLY because of Samuel L. ("Get This Mother____ Republican, out of my Mother_____ Movie!!!!")

Also there is of course Pulp Fiction, but again he was pretty out shined by others in that film as well. (Including Samuel L.)

Fifth Element and Unbreakable are very good as well (Although he was out shined YET AGAIN in those by other actors), as well as The Sixth Sense.

Come to think of it, the movies he has been successful in have been in SPITE of him, not BECAUSE of him.

On a last note, I watched The Siege the other night, and seeing that movie again after all that has happened these past five years brings THAT movie into a whole different light. If you get a chance, watch it. It's very chilling now.

Gary Numan and Merle Haggard - Merle may have Conservative ties as a young man, but I believe he has changed whole-heartedly - Numan, on the other hand, is homosexual and find it hard/odd to believe (although, I base this on nothing other than the fact that he is gay and I like his music :) )

please enlighten.

edit :typo

edit : I base my knowledge on Merle on the Bob Dylan/Merle tour in which (I saw them 3 times) bashed the shit out of Bush during his concert.

42. Dennis Hopper is a big time Repug
Quite a few names on this list, however, are a stretch. I've seen this before, and people assume because some of these people donated $200 to some obscure Repug (like a neighbor or family friend, as is often the case), that makes them a Repug.

Clint Eastwood is not very open politically (though he was mayor of Carmel, CA, but was not affiliated with any party, as far as I know). He mildly defended the stars of his movie "Mystic River" (which was very good, BTW) - Sean Penn and Tim Robbins - as they spoke their minds. Eastwood seems to prefer staying out of the whole political debate.

Hopper has been pro-Bush big time for awhile, so he's confirmed (sorry).

Some of these people, like Cameron, Welchel and Gibson, are merely hardcore fundies. They don't always go hand-in-hand.

John Popper of Blues Traveler only sides with the GOP on guns. He's a gun enthusiast.

And many of these guys are pretty quiet about it, so that doesn't matter to me.

Of course, some are vocal about being conservative, like Selleck, Carey, Willis, Nugent, Silver, etc.

And since when is Dana Rohrabacher a celeb? :wtf:

Oh, and George Lucas IS NOT A REPUBLICAN! Very far from it.

This list is partially flawed, and much of it can easily be debunked.

43. On the other hand, Dennis Hopper is the PERFECT Republican actor
Not macho+cuddly persona like Schwarzennegger has adopted.

Just strait nutcase.

One of the reasons the movie EASY RIDER was so controversial is that Hopper was a maniac on and off the set. He wasn't really acting.

People assume because Dennis Hopper played a couple famous countercultural roles parodying wackos in indie movies that he must be a Democrat. But they aren't parodies -- Hopper really did fuck himself up on drugs and become a paranoid, aggressive nutcase, which is the role he played in Easy Rider and variations thereof in later movies.

The most perfect Republican character Hopper's ever played was the villain in Waterworld -- who lives on an oil tanker (on a planet destroyed by global warming) and sponsors jetski demolition derbys.

I wonder if Bush refers to oil as "go-juice"... no wait, he refers to something else...
