We find ourselves between a Shiite ascendancy and a Sunni panic. Iran has increased it's influence in Southern Iraq and likely obtain a nuclear weapon as well. Our worst nightmare is coming true before our eyes.

Our Sunni secular non-democratic allies are scared out of their minds. Our Sunni Islamic fundamentalist enemies are salivating at their chance to seize power in these dictatorships and Afghanistan, and our Shiite fundamentalist enemies are climbing the ladder of power on the backs of dead Americans.

Could things in get worse?

You bet your ass they can. The Sunni Islamic fundamentalists have secured sanctuary in Pakistan and are fighting a determined insurgency in Afghanistan. NATO is unable to respond. It's Generals in Afghanistan have been calling for more troops. These calls have so far gone unanswered.

Our "leaders" are not playing to win. They tell us that this war is the "calling of our generation". But, they will not commit to fighting it. There are only 13,000 American troops in Afghanistan and only 8,000 NATO troops.

The situation in Iraq is worse. Only 130,000 American troops are deployed in this "central front in the war on terror".

Perhaps our "leaders" take their rhetoric far more seriously then they do the actual war. If this war is indeed the "calling of our generation", let's man up and get the job done. Otherwise, let's shut up and take our lumps.

is to have an all out "Military Draft"......this will not happen because the Repugs know exactly what will happen in this country if the Draft is reinstated....

So the option left on the table....our soldiars in the Green Zone and around Iraq and now Afghanistans are sitting targets with a bullseye on them because of this administration.....A Tet offensive is coming....they are getting hit in their bases now but something catastrophic is coming....

I want our soldiars out now....not even to the edges of Iraq...I mean completely out... there is nothing they can do without massive reinforcements.....

6. I have to disagree on one central point

I believe the threats we have created are in fact real. That we are losing Afghanistan and Iraq, and that our allies in the region will be destabilized if not toppled.

We will have no choice but to face this real threat to our interests. I just pray we will have an FDR type serious person to run this country before we face these threats.

5. One wonders if profit through destruction is their sole purpose.

They make money on making war and blowing things up. They make money on rebuilding things. They make money through grabbing resources and upping energy costs. They grab power when chaos threatens, or when it is created.

More chaos, more power, more money. You must consider how far they may be willing to take this, to grab more and more. Please think about it. We already know in our hearts; it's time to admit it. If America got taken down a notch, the NWO (alliance of world rich and powerful) will simply pick up the pieces and shape them in their own image. "You have to break a few eggs to make an omelette."

Hey, I'm happy to be proven wrong. Then I look at New Orleans and know that they like destruction for its own sake. "Stay the course" in Iraq might be a call to futher chaos and middle east instability leading to the Iranian invasion.

We need oil in order to transition away from oil.

I know it sounds crazy, but all of our progressive goals depend of having a strong and sound economy and world position as a jumping off point.

remove each states reserve units....the units that would actually defend each state if needed....place Haliburton or whatever police company in each state and you have the recipe for a true police state...
