"My" first "film" now streaming on YouTube

[Plaid Adder]

A couple years ago, an Australian guy named Larry Larstead emailed me asking if he could adapt my "Asshole Theory of Governance" as a short film. I said, if you think you can make a movie out of that, be my guest. He turned it into a six-minute digital film called "Theories of Government #9." That film, and a lot of Larstead's other short films, are now finally available on the web through the magic of YouTube. Here's Larstead's website:

His newest one is called "Peak Oil," and though I haven't seen it yet I imagine it will be of interest to some of you. If you want to go directly to "Theories of Government #9," here's the direct link.

Note that the film begins with "snow" and static, and the little blips of interruption are actually an aesthetic effect and not the result of the mysterious "buffering" process. At least some of them will be.

I would never have thought in a million years that you could make a movie out of that document, but he found a way of doing it. My favorite scenario is the one for Democracy, although I'm also fond of the one he came up with for Communism. And I love the little old lady at the beginning! I hope she gets her big break soon.

4. That was a pretty intricate little piece for 6 minutes

the man definitely has talent. I should just ask my cab company if they'll let me make the film myself. Actually I need to get off my ass and put the thing in a coherent narative first.
