Here's the deal.. The western world just doesn't care.. All the lipservice in the world does not negate the fact that we talk about these outrages, and we huff and we puff...we hold "fundraisers"..we send our movie stars...and yet

Non-Christian, non-white, non-western lives are just not worth all that much.

We covet their land, their resources, but the actual people...well.. they are just not valuable enough to save.

They are poor and uneducated and just too darned much work to contend with.

Our "policy" has usually been..."well how sad for them that they chose to live there/were born there/didn't overthrow their corrupt leaders/didn't escape when they had the chance/ etc etc etc".. and then they appoint a commision to "study" it some more.

There are a million "excuses" why we cannot/do not help much.. NONE of those excuses saves lives, or helps much, but the excuses flow, and so does the blood and tears..

but wait..

Survivor starts tonight.. Who has time to worry about REAL reality, when we have the pretend reality to watch..and it's just so much cheeky fun.

1. Where did you get that cute cat photo?

I "borrowed" it when I first saw it. Made a copy and then used it in a PowerPoint presentaion. I put him in my photo file and then just cut out the center. Then I made a 3-D Box and inserted Ceiling Cat, colored the box the same shade as the ceiling. It turned out so well that I used it my newsletter for "Out of the Box" thinking articles. Of course, everyone liked it, so thank you.

My Amber looks like that kitty and we do have a "wall" cat..(rescued as a newborn from inside a wall)..
