Swift Boat Leader Responds to Kerry

by John O'Neill
Posted Sep 14, 2006

John Kerry recently volunteered that he was prepared to “kick ass from one end of America to the other” and that he would “demolish” us. He ought to take a Christmas cruise to Cambodia to calm down. Maybe he could take a side trip to tour “Genghis Khan” ruins.

It is a little difficult to imagine Kerry (“I voted for it before I voted against it”) kicking the most decorated living serviceman, Bud Day, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, or our salty commander, Adm. Roy Hoffman, anywhere. Perhaps Kerry had in mind using a “Rice Fanny Grenade” as he did by mistake on himself shortly before leaving Vietnam. If so, based on the record, he is in far more danger than anyone else.

Kerry and his friends certainly seem to show much greater anger and hatred toward us than toward the murderous al Qaeda terrorists. This is actually a positive thing. Based on his record of switching to adopt the North Vietnamese position in 1971 and (after voting to send our kids to Iraq) proposing to cut and run in Iraq, it is likely that Kerry will be endorsing our positions by 2008 and (in his words) “Swift Boating” himself. If not, it is OK. After living for 34 years with his claim that our comrades, living and dead, were like the army of Genghis Khan, we will always remember and be grateful for the support of the American people in 2004. Nothing he will ever say can demolish that or will speak nearly so loudly.

Here's the print version (fuck HU and their ads!):

O'Neill's still nuthin' but a coward. Trying to use his so-called buddies to fight his own battles.

3. Kerry did better than sue O'Neill
He is helping by directing fund-raising efforts toward The Patriot Project and, most recently, VoteVets.org. That is getting at O'Neill and his lying cohorts before they can damage other American veterans with their lies.

4. That's what I don't get.
Kerry is worth close to a half billion dollars, and I am sure that he could find quite a few friends that would be willing to throw in millions to destroy these fuckers. But, he won't.

I don't get it. There are demonstrably false claims about him in their books. Claims that people swore to. Why can't he sue the fuck out of them or at least tie them up in court and drain them?

14. Because the libel laws work against it
Edited on Thu Sep-14-06 08:58 PM by TayTay
Kerry was sued by the SBVT group for defaming their Stolen Honor movie. It was thrown out of court. It is exceedingly hard, given the free speech rights in this country, to win a libel case. Such a case is nearly impossible for a public official to win. (Do you really want your right to say what you want about a politician curbed by fear of a libel suit?) He would have to take it to the UK which has entirely different laws and I don't think he wants to sue in a 'foreign court.'

Better to fight them where it hurts with funding groups like VoteVets.org.

19. There is a difference in saying what you want about a candidate
and LIEING point blank about them. That is the whole purpose of Libel and Slander Laws and yes even politicians have the same rights as ordinary Americans when it comes to defending their good name from out and out LIES. Unless of course Kerry doesn't think he could win a law suit because they aren't all LIES...If that were the case though then the US Navy would be as much at fault as Kerry.

2. O'Neill is a lawyer and he writes like that?
How many mind-altering drugs is he on anyway? He writes like a hyperactive 10 year who desperately wants to buy a real subordinate clause.

Now I asks ya: what the hell does this mean?

Based on his record of switching to adopt the North Vietnamese position in 1971 and (after voting to send our kids to Iraq) proposing to cut and run in Iraq, it is likely that Kerry will be endorsing our positions by 2008 and (in his words) “Swift Boating” himself.

Was John O'Neill putting Kerry in Iraq before he put him in Vietnam? Does John O'Neill know that Vietnam and Iraq are on opposite sides of the globe? Does he even know what a terrorist is and that logically, not all terrorists are communists. (Honestly, who would hire this man as an attorney. Those subordinate clauses are just atrocious. I would have flunked him out of 6th grade English.)

Mr. O'Neill clearly needs remedial English help. Too bad that the Republicans that he worships so slavishly have cut funding for such needed programs as 'Communicating in English.' He would surely benefit and people might actually be able to figure out what the hell he is talking about in his written pieces.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste, in some case, a very terrible thing to waste.

5. This is perfect - bring the liars back out - there's a ton of documents
waiting to crush the vermin.

The military who watched the swifting back then have vowed to no longer stay silent.

Kerry's team has catalogued every lie the swifts used and now have all the documents, orders, files and audio and film that they could get hold of to PROVE the swifts lied.

Some swifts decried their former stances, say they were lied to in the effort to coerce cooperation and are willing to say so publically.

8. What a bitter man
When did these Vietnam vets change history? Swiftboatie and his buddies act like the war in Vietnam was something to be proud of.
Didn't the majority of Americans oppose it and consider it to be immoral? Didn't we force the government to end the war and the draft? Didn't massive numbers of soldiers desert?

O'Neil hates the fact that any soldier who fought in Vietnam has no more right to pride than one who fought for the Germans in WW2.
At least Kerry was man enough to admit it.

10. O'Neill's still living through the war
Not the combat part, but the part when he was a Nixon lackey dispatched to attack Kerry.

Yet, three decades after Nixon's disgraceful downfall and years after Nixon's death, O'Neill still thinks he's kissing Nixon's ass!

What a loser!

9. Little old me ran this piece of scum O'NEILL off of a radio interview
I called in, indentified myself as a Vietnam vet and told him he was playing a shell game with civilians who don't know the military conventions, that his attack on on honorable and decorated vet like JK was shameful, that specifically the Swiftbots attempting to discredit any of the Purple Hearts was baloney, that the criteria for the PH varies from ONE DROP of blood shed under combat all the way to serious injuries and death and that JK's fell well within the criteria and that the Swiftbots were playing mind games with civilian ignorance. The radio host had announced O'NEILL was going to be on the phone interview for a half hour, but right after my call he told the host he had to go and skedaddled!!!1 Fucking a-hole!!1

13. Don't mean to get off topic, but your mention of the criteria
Edited on Thu Sep-14-06 08:57 PM by mohinoaklawnillinois
for PH's brought back something my sister asked me just last week.

My grandfather, a WWI vet, won two Purple Hearts in France, he was gassed twice and was very active in the Illinois VFW in the years after the war. Anyway, my sister called me last week and asked me if I knew where Grandpa's Purple Hearts were. I told her I thought my sister-in-law had them because when we broke up my parent's home, my brother had taken possession of the "God Knows When Box" aka my mother's hope chest and I was pretty sure that my Mother had stored them in there after my grandmother's death in 1979. Grandpa died in 1960 from emphysema caused by the gassings. He was 62 years old.

Anyway, I found out during the course of this conversation that my Uncle Buddy had received a Purple Heart during WWII because he was "wounded" at Iwo Jima. However, my sister told me that Uncle Buddy's PH was sort of a family joke. Yes, he was wounded but very slightly and when he returned home, he showed Grandpa (his father) the PH and said "Dad, this is really a Lavender Lung compared to what you went through."

Please don't take this post the wrong way, as I said it was a family joke that I was unaware of for many years, but it does prove your point that the criteria for PH's does go from slight injuries to serious injuries and death and anyone who received one should be saluted and not "swift-boated" for the service to their country.

John O'Neill is one very sick individual.

15. How do you suggest he do so?
Edited on Thu Sep-14-06 09:11 PM by TayTay
He has told the truth about his service records, a fact that Sen. John Warner, Republican Senator from Virginia acknowledged in June during a floor debate with Sen. Kerry that had the following:

Mr. WARNER. Mr. President, I will conclude. The Senator from Massachusetts and I have had this conversation about that period of history before. We will have it again and again. I recall, I went to the Pentagon in February 1969 and was there for 5 years in the Navy Secretariat. As the Secretary of the Navy, the Senator always said I was his boss. He has been very respectful about that.

I remember when his Silver Star came through our Secretariat at that time. I went back and checked for accuracy, and it was accurate, I say to the Senator. He knows that, and I know that.

-- Congressional Record, US Senate, June 21, 2006

What do you want Kerry to do to O'Neill that is legally and morally permissible for a citizen, nevermind a US Senator to do? How would you get rid of O'Neill?

18. He never expected the media was going to give O'Neill any credence.
You would think once O'Neill was caught on the Nixon tapes plotting with the WH against Kerry, that media would have given a damn and denounced his insertion into the campaign, instead they built him a pedestal and gave him unlimited airtime.

You think O'Neill could have legitimacy any other way than thru a complicit media?

20. Didn't this guy donate one of his kidneys to his wife?
That is very commendable of him but he really should be devoting most of his free time to his wife. He should enjoy life. His job is done. He and his swiftboat buddies destroyed Kerry's campaign with their lies. They succeeded. He gave his wife a chance at life again now he needs to get a life.
