Let's face it, they're all wealthy. Most if not all of them were born wealthy. Have they ever met with any poor people? How many poor people do they know? For that matter, how many middle income people do they know? Based on their voting records, I'd have to go somewhere between few to none.

All in all, its quite depressing.

They spend all their time playing the games of Court, currying favor and trying to outmanuver eachother for 'royal' favor. All their attention is focused inward, toward the machinations of Washington politics and the elaborate dance of public ritual. The constituents who placed these people in power receive no more attention than the serfs who tilled the courtiers' fields back at the manor.

2. I can tell you this

J Dennis Hastert was at a fair about two weeks ago. Two guys walk up to him and just wanted to know something he had them pushed away. Those two guys were homeless veterans he had promised to help. They just don't care only when its a good photo op

Our Governor of Maine was just a regular guy and he was in Congress. I know two people who have met him and he even e-mails my daughter when she wanted to talk to him about something in her job. He was interested in both these peoples problems. Sanders of Vt. is a lot like that also. Andrews of Maine has moved on to the Concord group and he was always a every day person. Rudman was also. Some are really interested in people.

They go right out of my head after I read them.Like phone numbers I never put things in my mind when they have all down for you some place. I know that is silly but it is how I think. I have been polled many times in the past, short ones and long one but I do not think I am into them very much.

He's running against a wacko-fundie repug. He should cruise to re-election. Even in here in the red part of the state, he's well thought of, even by some R's. I think he'll get more than a few votes from the more moderate ones.
