   Is Bush the most destructive leader in history. Homeland Security sent a warning that the levies would not hold. Let's hear from you Bushie.

2. Except when he's not.
Sometimes he does an about-face on us and starts blowing the administration.

3. He has a personal stake in Katrina's aftermath........
his daughter is a Senior at Tulane University, my daughter is as well. She was two days away from returning to New Orleans for the fall semester. That was the 27th of August. I forbid her to return. Katrina hit on the 29th. I'm not sure how Jack's daughter fared, whether she had returned to NO or not, whether she had to evacuate etc. If she did I can see why this pushed Jack off the bush bandwagon, at least on this issue.

4. He used to sound much more conservative -- in a habitual
sort of way.

Anyone have email contact for him? I really appreciate his attention to the Katrina tragedy ongoing.

7. Is it any wonder that a true conservative, not the hijacked, wingnut style
that we see so much of today - but a true old fashioned conservative would no longer support W's illegal wiretapping, expanding government into personal issues, nation building, expanded deficts and fiscal irresponsibility in regard to tax cuts, and culture of corruption?

17. Bush has never ever been a conservative. If we feel upset,
can you imagine how actual conservatives feel?

I blame them for going along with the Cabal. But, they are not happy at all.

We have a perfect storm here. We need some leadership.

Whistling . . . .

10. No, Tulane started it's Spring semester on January 17.........
Edited on Tue Jan-24-06 05:07 PM by ClintonTyree
the campus actually fared pretty well. Very little flooding in that area, the usual trees down, broken windows etc. A few buildings flooded and they're putting some students, faculty and staff up on a Cruise Ship for the time being.
They say they're hurting money-wise (aren't they always?) but I haven't seen anything about insurance settlements in the news yet. Surely they must have had insurance, but the President of the University says they've paid for the refurbishment strictly out of pocket. There's a lot of unanswered question of course. I'm glad my daughter is a Senior though, I'd be hesitant to have her gp back for much longer.

There's been talk that Presidents Clinton and Bush (41) are going to be the commencement speakers. That should be interesting! ;)

On edit: my daughter attended Cornell for the fall semester, it was pretty close to home for her. Most other students either spent a semester as "visiting students" at other Universities and Colleges or just sat out the semester. They're offering a special, shortened semester this summer for those who sat it out and want to catch up.

12. Don't worry, Tulane has TONS of money.
They have one of the highest tuitions in the WORLD. Tulane is the one institution in New Orleans that has come back faster and better than any other.... and I am very glad because we need the revenue from the wealthy kids. :)

Say 'hi' to your daughter for me from one of her neighbors. :hi:

14. Well, we're far from wealthy........
she's on scholarship or else I wouldn't be able to afford it. You're correct though, most of them come from well to do families.

Tulane has an endowment of around $750 million and that's considered SMALL in comparison to other private universities. Cowen (the president) says they can't touch the endowment. :eyes: Yeah, they're bleeding it out of the parents. It's all a big mess but yeah, they're glad to be back. Once you've lived in New Orleans......

I'm going down for the last two days of Mardi Gras, my first. I can't wait!
