NO MORE DAMN PREACHERS FOR pRESIDENT!!! The pic at the top of the link page makes me fucking ill!! the Serpation of Church and State is made VERY CLEAR in the constitution, I should get a fucking lawer and sue Bush's bible thumbing theocratic ass off!! He is breaking the LAW!

As funding rises, Christian groups deliver help -- with a message..
October 8, 2006

This story is the first of four parts. It was reported and written by Farah Stockman, Michael Kranish, and Peter S. Canellos of the Globe Staff, and Globe correspondent Kevin Baron.

A Christian God.

The US government has given $10.9 million to Food for the Hungry, a faith-based development organization, to reach deep into the arid mountains of northern Kenya to provide training in hygiene, childhood illnesses, and clean water. The group has brought all that, and something else that increasingly accompanies US-funded aid programs: r egular church service and prayer.

President Bush has almost doubled the percentage of US foreign-aid dollars going to faith-based groups such as Food for the Hungry, according to a Globe survey of government data. And in seeking to help such groups obtain more contracts, Bush has systematically eliminated or weakened rules designed to enforce the separation of church and state.

2. When the history of our era is written...
...evangelical religion will be recognized as the single most toxic and destructive force we face. More than hunger, disease and war, the impulse to forcefeed others one's own god is the fast road to exploitation and misery. Hopefully, in some future enlightened age, such proselytizing will be rightly recognized as a crime against humanity.

6. No, no, no, OUR god is a god of love and peace!
Except when he isn't. How many people have been killed in the name of that god of love and peace?

9. That sign is almost funny. I wonder if they read it before it went up
We as Ch. have a history of not being very good to people who were not Ch. We have always made them easy to kill off and treat bad. Just look at how Germany vs. Japan were treated during WW2. Also Am. Indians. I believe Bush started this the day he got into office. Must be someplace on this thing that shows what tax money he has handed out to who ever he wanted and with what strings.

3. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
This is flat out wrong!

The group has brought all that, and something else that increasingly accompanies US-funded aid programs: r egular church service and prayer.

If these people cannot give aid without pushing their beliefs on others (and they rarely can) they should not be receiving tax dollars. Tax dollars are not meant for recruitment efforts!

GAH! :grr:  :grr:

5. Exactly
It's all about:

Look at what a good Christian I am for doing this
Listen to our sales pitch (or you get nothing)
Come join us (sometimes as a requirement for receiving aid)
Adhere to our beliefs (sometimes as a requirement for receiving aid)

It makes me sick. :puke:

8. It makes me ill.....
...But I have started standing up, STRAIGHT UP about being an Atheist. I had to tell a Co-worker Just this morning after the "G-d babble" began to flow that I AM AN ATHEIST!, which I do not hesitate to state loudly anymore.

He is a nice guy and we had a pretty good conversation without killing each other...He can not stand Mega-Churches so he scored 1 point from me on that. Abortion is something we can not agree on, I tried to explain to him that he has NO idea why people have had abortions and to simple call them murderers was extreme. He thinks that just because they 'might' ban them it will be the end of abortions, I said "Well thats great, women will be back to the coat hanger in the ally abortion rather then going to a safe and clean enviroment, yeah some ban." I am pro-choice, but late term abortions are only acceptable to me in the event of a medical emergency that threatens the mothers life.

I could not get past the idea that the entire conversation was meant to sway me somehow, but I am right in the middle of Richard Dawkins masterpiece "The God Delusion" and there is no turning back or even giving religion any creditablility on any level now. "La Favola Di Cristo" by Luigi Cascioli really brought me into my Atheism, it was that book and his website that drew me a clear picture about the mass control mechanism know as RELIGION ... which as far as I am cocerned, is a fucking cancer.

Oh, I did make the jesus freak recoil, it was great. He was talking about Adam and Eve and the that "begotten" bullshit and I said.."So, they populated through incest..ewww!" and he told me "There were no laws afor that then.." that was his final answer!!

Well hot damn! If not having a law against it makes everything ok then why are the thumpers whining to get abortion outlawed? Why are they clamoring to get gay-marriages banned? Why make any new laws since if it isn't already outlawed it's ok?

Idiots. :banghead:

14. This will burn your ass....
...Missionaries from vatican city have been invading South America with their "abstinence Only" crap, they have been caught telling people in SA that condems come with holes in them to allow HIV and other viruses to pass through them and that condems are already tainted with HIV. Along with other lines of 'WTF' that I cant remember..

I thought I posted it not to long ago on here, it was on Atheist.org last month maybe.

15. The Preacher and the Slave made foreign policy. Figures.
THE PREACHER AND THE SLAVE
(Joe HilI)

Long-haired preachers come out every night,
Try to tell you what's wrong and what's right;
But when asked how 'bout something to eat
They will answer with voices so sweet:

Main Chorus:

You will eat, bye and bye,
In that glorious land above the sky;
Work and Pray, live on hay,
You'll get pie in the sky when you die.

And the starvation army they play,
And they sing and they clap and they pray.
Till they get all your coin on the drum,
Then they tell you when you are on the bum:
If you fight hard for children and wife
Try to get something good in this life
You're a sinner and bad man, they tell,
When you die you will sure go to hell.

Workingmen of all countries unite,
Side by side we for freedom will fight;
When the world and its wealth we have gained
To the grafters we'll sing this refrain:

Last Chorus:

You will eat, bye and bye,
When you've learned how to cook and to fry
Chop some wood, 'twill do you good
And you'll eat in the sweet bye and bye.
