O’Reilly: ‘You Cannot Be Confrontational With The President of USA"
O’Reilly: ‘You Cannot Be Confrontational With The President of the United States’

Fox’s Bill O’Reilly, who argues in a new book that Osama Bin Laden is “cheering” the progressive movement in America, was invited to the White House yesterday for an exclusive interview with President Bush. It was Bush’s third interview with O’Reilly.

Last night, just before he broadcast the first installment of the interview, O’Reilly explained to his viewers that, “You cannot be confrontational with the President of the United States.” Instead, according to O’Reilly, “President Bush will have his say.” O’Reilly added, “I think it is important to look ahead rather than to look back. What good does it do to rehash WMDs? Does that do you any good?” Watch it:

1. well, Bill
Didn't you promise you would never believe a word from the White House if no WMD were found?

You're not going to be confrontational on that issue at least?

5. Can't wait until '09 when a Dem President gets to sit with
O'Reilly. There will be many that will want to shut out O'Reilly, but I think a president armed with a list of quotes would do great.

Think about this one...

O'Reilly: "Mr. or Mrs. President, your end of the military's ban on 'Don't ask, Don't Tell' had not been appreciated by the miliatary. Why aren't you supportive of our troops on the front line?"

Pres: "Now Bill, you're doing the work of the terrorists now with a question like that. We're going to send some guys over...some security people...and pay you a little visit, jerkass."

12. Thank God for Billo
Finally, finally President Bush gets a chance to say something! Unlike every other day of the year when, uhm, well, when Billo isn't prone before him while he rambles on and on, following every straw man with a non sequitur and vice versa. We all know just how impossible it is for the president of the United States to get his message out.

16. Indeed, what good does it do to "rehash WMDs"?
Bill O'Reilly - Good Morning America - 3-18-03 -- "And I said on my program, if -- if -- the Americans go in and overthrow Saddam Hussein and it's clean, he has nothing, I will apologize to the nation, and I will not trust the Bush administration again."

What say you O'Hypocrisy?

17. Bill. Can I call you Bill?
Why don't you get a falafel and a loofah and go do something obscene with them? No one will get hurt, and those of us who are serious about our country can get back to trying to fix it. Thank you.

18. The hell you can't! The POTUS is a PUBLIC SERVANT.
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 10:09 AM by calimary
The highest-ranking one, to be sure, but a PUBLIC SERVANT. He works for US. It's NOT the other way around. And frankly, you BETTER be confrontational if he's as big a fuck-up as this one is. Everything a president does, he does IN OUR NAME, AND ON OUR DIME. He is ANSWERABLE to us at all times, and can AND SHOULD be taken to the woodshed when he blows it. We don't hire presidents to fuck things up. Whether bush would like to think so or not, fucking things up is NOT in the job description.

BTW - as long as I'm at it...

22. Wow
Can't wait not to watch it. Hey fans I get to sit in with the president, but don't worry I won't ask him anything interesting. That burning question you've been dieing to hear him answer, well you won't get that question from me. If you want 30 minutes of snoozefeast canned campaign jargon fresh from the 2000 race, well you're in for a treat. Why would anyone before a major interview inform his viewers he isn't going to give an interesting interview? It's like Bill doesn't want you to watch.
