Israel's State Prosecutors Office is considering ordering an investigation into allegations Prime Minister Ehud Olmert engaged in fraud, bribery, and breach of trust.

An internal review has recommended an investigation be initiated. The state prosecutor has yet to make a decision on the recommendation, which will also need the support of the attorney general.

Olmert is alleged to have pursued the interests of two overseas businessmen, one of which is Australian billionaire Frank Lowy, a major player in Australian and U.S. property markets.
