Smirk: "Some developments in Iraq were NOT encouraging ..."
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 09:42 AM by TahitiNut
"... such as the FAILURE to find weapons of mass destruction."

These are the words of Dear Leader today at 10:33am in another vacuous, stage-managed act of narcissistic desperation.

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

As a lonely occupant of a Euclidean world, I think I need help here. Is DimSon actually saying that his strange world would have been encouraged if they were able to find some weapons of mass destruction? In my Pythagorean way of thinking, it would seem that the absence of WMD would offer an opportunity to sigh in relief.

There are times when I've breathed a sigh of relief when I found I was wrong. It seems that this regime can't be happy unless they can shine the spotlight on a parade of horribles.

1. This administration can only CREATE its own relevance. Without
that, its utter irrelevancy shines forth for all to see (but an insufficient number recognize!)

2. he didnt say that
He said "...such as the FAILURE to find STOCKPILES of weapons of mass destruction."

Notice the difference? He will never flat out say we failed to find WMD. Instead he says stockpiles of WMD to give the impression of some WMD being found.

3. How bizarre does it have to get? It would be better
.... if they found WMD? Rather than be relieved that no WMDs existed, they're discouraged? Unfreakingreal.

9. You're right on what he said, though. Transcript:
<snip>
Over the past three years, I have often addressed the American people to explain developments in Iraq. Some of these developments were encouraging, such as the capture of Saddam Hussein, the elections in which 12 million Iraqis defied the terrorists and voted for a free future and the demise of the brutal terrorist (Abu Musab al-)Zarqawi.

Other developments were not encouraging, such as the bombing of the U.N. headquarters in Baghdad, the fact that we did not find stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, and the continued loss of some of America's finest sons and daughters.

Recently, American and Iraqi forces have launched some of the most aggressive operations on enemy forces in Baghdad since the war began. They have cleared neighborhoods of terrorists and death squads and uncovered large caches of weapons, including sniper scopes and mortars and powerful bombs.
<snip>

The death of nearly 3,000 troops is relegated to 3rd place in a list of "not encouraging" developments.

This despicable escapee from a human cesspool is beyond corrupt.

4. Apply their warped logic to that statement
They said there were WMD - and many still do make that claim, and many claim they were moved to Syria
So if they don't find them - by their warped logic - that is discouraging - because that means "they went somewhere", so they still exist and are a threat

Keeping in mind that none of the "facts" have to be true to establish the "reality" of their warped logic.

It's still the "there were WMD but they moved them" talking point...just more subtle. A bold statement of "they moved them to Syria" appeals to the conscious mind...but a subtle statement that allows for the underlying belief to continue appeals to the subconscious...and makes the bold appeal to the conscious statement stronger

6. Gremlins, evil spirits, leprechauns, poltergeists ...
When rigid doctrine confronts a dissonent reality, the true believer always conjures up a malicious or mischievous force interfering with the evidence or outcome. The "man as god" creationism of an alternative 'subworld' outside of ordinary perception (a nemesis to the 'holy') is the habitual ploy of those infused with equal measures of pride and sloth - the arrogantly ingorant. These are people who always pretend an ability to 'see' that which their lessers cannot see, insisting that dissent is ALWAYS heretical.

5. Later on he says stockpiles of ammunition and sniper rifles were found...
kind of leaving it open in his mind that we "did" actually find something that was important there in Iraq. :eyes:

I think he's either convinced the weapons were there but moved...or that somehow we will still locate them. Maybe that rumor that Judith Miller was sent to Iraq to find the weapons that were supposed to get planted but that Valerie Plame put the cobosh on that deal and that's why she was outed.

Either way the delusional Bush just can't quite admit to himself that there were no WMC/Chem or BIO and the more he tries to say that they found "something" the more he sounds like a looney.

8. We are being prepped for a change in policy...
I can see all the various subtle signs. Some not so subtle as well.

Then when they do it, they will say something along the lines that "this shouldn't surprise anyone, we have been saying this stuff all along".

Little quips, little telling signs, the mass media sending out little stories playing down various surceases and playing up that things aren't so rosy, blah blah blah...

They are hitting us with the press release version of softening artillery. They are pounding us on a very subtle level so the mouth breathers out there will take this as gospel and run with it, when they finally announce something.
