It seems to me that politicians could save themselves a lot of
headaches if they would simply tell us the truth when they screw up.

I would rather have someone admit to a mistake - no matter how bad it is, than to stand there and lie to me like I'm an idiot. We know who is lying and when they are lying; who do they think they're fooling?

Little Lord Pissy Pants refuses to admit that he has done anything wrong (what has he done right?)...same with Cheney and Rummy. These idiots run around in circles trying to keep track of their lies and the lies the other morons are telling. Wow -- that seems like an awful lot of work!

"Lies and the lying liars who told them...".

1. It reminds me of a George Clooney quote. From The Guardian:
"Clooney also seems aware of the fact that his colourful private life would be ruthlessly exposed by the media were he ever to try and turn to politics professionally. In typical jokey style, he once quipped: 'I'd have to run on the "Yeah, I did it" ticket. "Did you sleep with so-and-so?" Yeah, I did. "Did you take drugs?" You bet I did.'"

2. I was always told I was not smart enough to get away with lies.
And I knew it and it sure was just easier to say I did it and take what was coming but that was me and I have sure met all the other people who are also not smart enough to lie and I may have helped them get govt. jobs. It is a fun group in DC right now. Seems no one can tell the truth. You just say I am not reading the truth if it comes out of the govt.
