I give a lot of leeway to people of modest means when it comes to fashion choices. But when someone has money, sometimes you have to go, huh? Lynne Cheney's hanky draped over her shoulders like a yoke was just too distracting. She was obviously wearing a standard black shirt or dress, and uses scarfs, probably expensive scarfs, to make it look like her wardrobe is bigger than it actually is. And I have to say, huh? Maybe I've been watching Project Runway too long but I wanted to give her the proverbial Auf handshake and hug. I mean, the bitch's husband just scored a billion dollar coup for Halliburton and will be rewarded in the afterlife of public service for his treasonous decisions. You'd think she wouldn't have to play the game that the rest of us play to use accessories to simulate a larger wardrobe than we actually own. In her case, the way she draped that scarf around her shoulders in way to simulate a full dress made her look like a fowl on a tight budget, "cheap, cheap, cheap."

Seriously. Look at the replay and tell me if she didn't conscientiously put that scarf on her shoulders, knowing that it would fill the camera and give the appearance of a complete dress.

Margaret Tutweiler, the former State Department press spokesman, used to wear them all the time.

So, if the far right wanted to make fun of Mrs. Clinton's headbands, they're only making fun of themselves.

Two of the fashion trends twenty years ago were blouses with lace shawl collars, and (2) scarves draped over suit blazers. Both of those looks went out when Bush 41 took office.

Lynne Cheney's fashion sense is about as sharp as her integrity.

dresses that way. No fashion sense whatsoever, other than dowdy, frumpish, or preppy. That's all they know.

The first person I thought of while watching Mrs. Cheney on CNN yesterday was the late Martha Mitchell. She looked and sounded exactly like the wife of the former Attorney General in the Nixon Administration.

35. Wonder which Hermes Scarf? My favorite is my "Carpe Diem" one...another is the "Napoleon" one...or

the ones of the "Sun King" or of the "Cherokee Indian"....

I ask because when I was in Corporate America, I wore Hermes Scarfs like when I was picking out my pair of stockings or if someone was picking out their underwear. It literally was a basic part of my outfit, but also to make a statement.

I have to say that I love Hermes scarfs and they are beautiful, so its just a crying shame that an evil bitch like Lynne Cheney has to wear one and make it look so ugly. I personally don't think that Hermes scarfs look unattractive in the way she was wearing it. She just is plain ugly and nothing beautiful near her can compensate. But I'm curious which scarf she chose, because its usually got a motif and message....

38. I'm not opposed to scarves. But I am opposed to the way she

wore it. It draped her collar and shoulders like a shawl and just looked like she was trying to fool the camera, (which really only shoots from the breast up in that kind of interview format) into thinking she had the whole get up. If she had folded it and tied it, it probably wouldn't have been so forced-looking.

Then, again, she may have laid it out on her shoulders on purpose to show-off her $300.00 Hermes scarf, but then that says something about her, doesn't it? Very few people in America would have recognized it for what it was.

Like ribbons, acanthus leaves and keys....you know what I mean. That's why I knew what it was. They are beautiful scarves and you're right, nothing beautiful near her can compensate for her inner and outer ugliness.:(

I care about the unprecedented secrecy of Lynne's husband's office. I care about his gleeful support of torture.

I care about the hypocrisy of a woman who makes money off a lesbian romance novel and then pretends to get all huffy and insulting when someone points out that she and her husband have a gay daughter whose sexual orientation they accept.

I care, in short, about her being Mrs. Prince of Effing Darkness (while she acts all HOLIER THAN THOU all the time) ... not about her scarves.
