2. I could be wrong, but ...
I think an attack on US troops two days before the election would only remind people that we shouldn't have been there in the first place, we have no control over anything happening there and the entire war has been a disaster for us. Americans are fed up with Iraq - I can't see how losing more troops would make them rally around the GOP. JMHO

3. I say spread the word right now. Saddam is gonna be found guilty
and America is still in a quagmire in the bloodiest month of the year. When the big announcement is made, it will be like, didn't we know this already?

As for the warship attack, ask why * is scheduling this deployment to coincide with Election Day?

From today.

The Myth of the “Anfal Genocide”
Did Saddam Hussein “Kill the Kurds”

-snip-

"In the press reports studied for this analysis no statement or presentation of methodology was reported. No systematic studies were reported. No sworn affidavits were reported. No expert testimony was reported. Evidence of this kind would have been front-page news. It can be concluded that no such evidence was introduced. See Appendix B for the tabulation of articles.

Instead all testimony was anecdotal. As an example, on August 22, the first day of testimony, a witness named Ali Mustapha Hama was heard. He testified to events in the village of Balisan on April 16, 1987. The BBC reported that he said "there was greenish smoke, and minutes later, a smell like rotten apples or garlic. He spoke of a newborn infant who was trying to 'smell life’, but breathed in the chemicals and died. Many others died too, he added. During cross-examination, defence lawyers asked Mr. Hama how he knew the aircraft were Iraqi, and prompted Hama to say he had helped shelter guerrillas in his village."

11. You might want to look at this report from the UN's Human Rights Watch:
http://hrw.org/reports/1993/iraqanfal/

It talks about this, and I think you will find the link you quoted from is not exactly explaining the full story.

I have to say I trust the United Nations more than I do a website from an (news?)organization I have never heard of.

9. That would be the end of George W. Bush. There's actually a chance the Iraqi
government is so corrupt that Saddam might walk free. In which case no one in the country would want to fight it anymore.

10. If Saddam was scott free
... the Bushits would try to cover it up, most definitely! That would be really bad news for them, as far as the ship attack, I say it is planned for any day now. The MIHOP event will have to happen pretty soon, if at all. They need the ship thing, b4 they need the Saddam verdict, and all this will happen on my daughter's b-day! Sheesh!
