country club republicans
talking to my father today, he said all his friends were voting for bell for gov of texas. this is the panhandle of texas. he plays golf and knows lots of the guys. says they all dislike strayhorn and so fed up with the republicans. he stopped himself from going any further because after all, prior to me banning political talk in my house after 2004 elections he worked awfully hard trying to convince me bushco were good guys. these are the good ole boys.

i went to early voting and was surprised out the big turn out, all old people. was concerned. but maybe.... they arent just voting straight repug ticket

1. Maybe they remember the hard times
of their youth and are going back to their roots. That's part of the problem too many people have either died or forgotten how nasty things can be.

2. Early voters in my area are all ages
because this area is loaded with hospital workers. If you're working a 12 hour shift on election day, early voting is the way to go. Yes, it's been quite busy.

I'm not a bit surprised the country club members have turned against Stupid. The major attack has been on them, since they've already beggared the working class and destroyed hope there. They may not be able to afford their dues if something isn't done to stop this gang of thieves in their tracks.

I grew up as a country club kid, a non WASP club in the south. Members never felt themselves vulnerable to anything, they'd "made it."

The last 6 years have convinced them otherwise, I guess.

3. and really warpy between you and i
most arent "bad" people. i know a lot of good, hardworking, kind, integrity filled and honest people that really wanted to believe otherwise, but.... today.... how do you see anything but the ugly in the republican party. as much as they would like to look away, they cannot any more. they did, for a long time. and if my father ever gets to the point of saying bush bad, cant believe he was taken in, i will be sure to let him know all the signs were there way earlier. didnt all happen in year 2006
