Anyone else get irritated by the phrase "tax relief"?
They make it sound like "disaster relief" or "poverty relief" or other types of relief that are non-existent now in America.

I wonder how many of us will have any relief if the top .1% continue getting "tax relief."

thats when the 1% relieves you of your job to make sure their bonus check, with its relief, is at least the same as before or more...

3. Yes, and the idea that taxes are a "burden"
Taxes are the price you pay for living in a civilized country with services and an infrastructure.

I call it "fair share" and I think everybody oughta heft it.

How does the "tax burden" crowd think we should pay for essential services like police forces, sewage treatment, or roads? Oh, I forgot. These services should be provided by private corporations and fees should be voluntary. No pay, no service. Yeah, right.

5. It surprises me how many people don't realize...
That what most consider they heyday of America, the 1950s, the super rich were taxed up the wazoo. Republicans though now are scared that the rich will leave if we tax them too much????? I say let them leave, leave this country to the people who actually DO the work.

Why this isn't common sense I dunno.

6. Read George Lakoff on this topic
It is called "framing" the issue. Don't even go there when someone mentions it. They are automatically winning the argument if you argue from that viewpoint. Government spending is an investment in the future by building schools, infrastructure, etc.
