CNN poll of speech watchers: 48% VERY positive!
WTF?

his lowest was 45% in 04

highest in 02, in the low 70s

now they have halfwit JC Watts on, who just said the American people WANT to like him, and they "trust him when it comes to fighting the war on terrorism"

idiot Blitzer has repeatedly said that this poll reflects ONLY those Americans who watched the speech....as opposed to what, you moron?

now the Vanderbilt guy is on, and just said to McCain, re: lobbying reform "most people think the Republicans are JUST AS CORRUPT as the democrats"!!!!!

he really really said that

3. dunno, they put it up on the CNN show
really sickening lavage of McCain, who deplored the nasty dems' refusal to bow and scrape and cheer dumbo's every spewage

McCain deplored the partisan display of dems.

funny how he never mentioned the partisan IMPEACHMENT a few years back....

2. WTF are you WTF-ing about?
Do you think the number is weirdly high or weirdly low or what?

These post-SOU flash-polls are fairly meaningless -- it *is* relevant that only people who watched the speech are polled, since people who watched the speech are very disproportionately likely to support the president who's giving it. Given this, 45% strikes me as weirdly low.

6. ducking from display of ignorance here.....I
didn't realize these speeches get such abnormally high numbers....figured it would be along his approval level

7. Exactly!
If you've been following DU posts today, or other Dem websites, you've seen that MOST of the people posting said they wouldn't be watching the SOTU tonight.

SO ... if the majority of watchers were Repubs, and probably the vast majority of those are real * supporters, 45% is a VERY LOW NUMBER.

4. If he doesn't step on his tongue
during the speech or do a pratfall before or after it, it was a great speech.

Don't forget, we're dealing with people who look at form and dismiss content.

5. I just saw this as well, but he clarified to say that it only, only
applied to the people that were viewing the speech (for CNN I guess)

what they had 10 people and used that (all republicans, lol!)

11. That's probably because it was mostly true Repukes who watched
I'd rather smack myself upside the head repeatedly with a ball pean hammer than listen to Chimpy's bullshit.
