Courtney Chapman, a waitress dressed as a nurse at the Heart Attack Grill, holds up a triple bypass burger Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 in Tempe, Ariz. The waitresses at the restaurant, who wear minimal nurses attire, have angered a group of real Arizona nurses who say the servers demean their profession. (AP Photo/Matt York)

......................................................................
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a website for this place and posted about it in the lounge.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=5862670
the website had no recent "entries", and our thread was quite long and the discussion lasted a few days..

Coincidence??

I report..you decide..

"He has devoted his Web site to chronicling his spat with Summers, posting letters from supporters and detractors. He notes with considerable satisfaction that the fight has only improved business. Last week, after CNN carried a report on the debate, Basso said, he had so many customers he ran out of beef by 7 p.m."

8. On a related note: That's the crappiest-looking burger
I've ever seen. You'd think they could spring for a decent bun, or some vegetables that weren't recycled from Burger King's dumpster.

9. That is one repulsive excuse for "food"
What possesses people?? And how funny will it be when someone actually does drop dead at the Heart Attack Grill? I predict it will happen.

Focusing more on the nursing profession backlash than the food aspect of it all. Of course, what they don't add is that those people who are mocking nurses with their outfits and those who are there enjoying the look of the insulting outfits may end up at the sharp end of a nurse's needle in their local cardiac unit after they eat some of the restaurants burgers. I would especiallly love to get my hands on the guy who called us "battle axes who change bedpans for a living".

Yes, I am a nurse. And we are here to SAVE people's asses not kiss them. Florence Nightingale is probably turning over in her grave.

Basso shrugs off Summers' complaints, and refers to her and her supporters as prudes, cranks and lunatics.

"If anything, I think it glorifies nurses to be thought of as a physically attractive and desirable individual," Basso said. "There's a Faye Dunaway, Florence Nightingale hipness to it. Nobody wants to think of themselves as some old battle ax who changes bedpans for a living

12. I Know You Mean Well, But No. No, They Don't.
At least in this case referenced, I can say with the utmost personal confidence that a thread on DU would've had nada to do with this AP story. Sorry.
