I saw this earlier and thought it would be great for the Top 10, but then I started looking into it and it's kinda strange.

It seems that Jim Rutz is getting all of his ideas from this page:

Rutz repeats the stuff about "greater numbers of boys whose physical maturation is delayed, or does not occur at all," and "Infants exclusively fed soy formula receive the estrogenic equivalent of at least five birth control pills per day." He then adds his own ridiculous conclusions about how soy makes people gay.

But I thought this was all a bit weird. The information on this New Zealand anti-soy site crops up in a lot of different articles on the web - mostly mothers asking child-care experts about this stuff they've read on the Internet about soy harming babies.

So who is "Soy Online Service?" On their About page it says "Soy Online Service are a small group of private citizens from New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom. We have no industry connections and are not funded by any outside interest groups. Our mission is to uncover the truth about soy and to provide consumers with an alternative opinion to the plethora of criminal and dangerous lies that issue from the soy industry."

Okay, that's even weirder. Why would a group of private citizens want to expose the soy industry?

If you look at the bottom left of the page, it says that the site was created and is maintained by Kingett Mitchell Ltd:

...which appears to be some kind of lobbying organization for New Zealand industry, dolled up in a pro-enviroment-looking package. I can't say for sure because I haven't had enough time to look it over properly. But that's what it seems to be.

So Jim Rutz and his "soy makes you gay" nonsense aside, why would a bunch of unnamed "private citizens" want to hire a big lobbying company to create a site dedicated to trashing the soy industry?
