Not only was the first part of his imperialistic speech offensive-SINCE WHEN is the United States mission to democratize the world- at least OPENLY touting it- but what in the world must other countries think when Bush defies their government by directing messages to citizens of a COUNTRY HE DOES NOT RULE.

I've been just as offending in the past when Bush has sent messages to Iraq... right before he bombed them.

1. Joe Scarborough and Tucker said almost the same thing
It was towards the end of the wrap-up on Tweety. Why is he ralking about other counries at all since his duty is to THIS country. Scary when I find myself agreeing with the intern killer and Bowtie.

Yes to your second point: don't forget what happened the last time we heard "freedom's on the march"? :scared:

He does it because the SOTU is now his official launching pad for all his favorite wars. Including his war against Americans in the form of "The Patriot Act".

It's now a gathering similar to a wedding or baby shower. it certainly never says a damn thing about the actual state of the union.

4. Drumming up support from his base.
I was very shocked that he didn't use the words "war" and "Iran" in the same sentence, but he certainly implied it.

5. That's easy
it's because in an Empire, the Nation depends on attacking and invading other countries.

Bush is drumming up support for war with Iran.

Americans will go along...as they always do. Like the obedient little subjects that they are.
