1. From what I understand
Edited on Wed Feb-01-06 06:32 AM by Kierkegaard
truth was largely absent as well.

Let's see if this summary about covers it:
"We've gotta fix all the shit that I fucked up. We'll start by doing nothing."

2. The democu?ts were all clapping like trained seals begging for
a dead fish though. Wouldn't it have been great if after every lie Bush told last night, the democrats had all screamed out as one..."GET REAL MISTER PRETZELDENT!" But no, they just grinned and clapped for more.

3. I would have paid to see it.
The very least they could have done was stand as one body and walk out.

12. Actually no,
From my perspective, the Dems stayed seated when the Repugs gave him standing ovations. If they were clapping it was polite quiet applause. The stood once as a sarcastic gesture to something he said. Near the end he appeared to be getting mad, he glared at the Dem side quite a few times.

The Dem response by the VA Governor was well spoken and thought out.

This is all my opinion so please flame away. In my defense I was playing Shrub drinking games with my local Dem Group.;-)

14. No flames from me.
If that's the way you saw it. You have every right to see it any way you want and I thank you for your input. I'm just here to try and make sense of this ongoing enigma.

18. haha
Thanks...It was my first SOTU that combined drinking with yelling at a big screen in a bar. I highly recommend it, it was a very cleansing experience! It is always a great feeling to have a large group of like minded people around you. We also had some of the local candidates show up, and work the crowd.

I have decided there is no making sense of it. If we could we would be truly terrified at what we found! I dare say that the crowd I was with was VERY upset that he dared mention Coretta Scott King in his opening remarks.

19. When I think of Coretta Scott King it always bring tears to my eyes
She was forever robbed of the love of her life and when I think about it, I can't help but be saddened and ashamed to the very core. Bush's political operatives in Florida and Ohio, have also robbed many of the very people, who fought so hard for us on every foreign battlefield and they sweated, suffered and bled in horrid shit-holes around the world to protect us ALL, when the GOP goon squads disenfranchised so many black voters, in places like Dade and Cuyahoga counties and threw their voices(ballots)in the trash. Prince George does not support anyone, but his cronies and yes men...PERIOD.

I'm not really as mad at the democrats in Washington, as I act like I am, but it's long past time for them to wake up. It's time for them to act like democrats, instead of Bush's flunkies and Karl's whipping boys.

7. "We'll start by doing nothing."
I think we belong to the "Do Nothing Party" revisited.

I get more pissed off at the docile democratic dunces every day. Playing goody two shoes, while the country turns into a nazicon stronghold. Are they blind, stupid, all of the above? The democratic response to Bush's nazism is maddening. Watching the country bleed out it's life blood and it's liberty is maddening. Yet the people we pay to protect us, just grin and cheer the anti-American bastards on?

Our guys need to touch bases with reality too, once in a while, but noooooooooooooooooo!

8. All I can figure HF is they must have
photos where they drugged the dems and put them in sexual positions with children. It is the only reason I can fathom for all the compliance and boot-licking that goes on. Nothing else really explains the behavior of our supposed representatives.

Oh god I want our country back! I really cannot take much more of watching this country slide into deeper fascism. I don't know what else to do to fight anymore, short of a violent revolution and I am a pacifist.

In peace,
V

A constant sinking feeling. Can't be good for the country's mental health!

They must have pictures of all the congresscritters gangbanging Bush's pet goat!

9. I heard about ten minutes of the speech on the radio
and all I really heard was empty rhetoric, meaningless talking points, and outright lies.

13. I Pointed Out Our Senator, Barabara Mikulski,
to my 15-year-old daughter. She claimed she could read her lips and that she was saying "That's bullshit!"

She had to see the speech for a high school class. I heard her tell her friend on the phone last night: "I was going to take notes, and my Dad said I should just write on the whole page 'Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies....'"
