5. You could almost take the word "comedy" out of your subject line.
That would put it in with some great company, but I think it was a watershed moment for the US. The media immediately pounded him, but the public fought back with the downloads and buzz you alluded to. I think at that point (the backlash of the public), more than any other, the media figured out it was backing the wrong horse and started to become more objective.

I won't say that the speech itself changed many minds, but the MSM's attack on Colbert made the public speak up loud and clear.
