For Lala_rawraw: Some notes, some praise, and some DU love

This morning, as I read the tripe spewed at you by this second level troll, it occurred to me that I was reading an all too familiar brand of Bushbot smearwork. Not only because none of it was true, but because it danced away from your criticism of how Hussein’s hanging came about into a generic laundry list of subjects wholly unrelated to the topic at hand.

Your anger at these claims, baseless though they may be, is entirely justified. Any cursory reading of your archives would produce evidence to debunk each and every claim made by this Anonymouse Fullschist in less time than it took him/her/them to Make Them Up.

You are a champion Larisa. In the cause of bringing to light injustice, corruption and other evils that beset our world, you do yeoman’s work and produce stellar writings in the name of bettering the human condition. These two hands are hardly able to offer up the applause you deserve. As far as the term judenrat being cast at you goes, I figure once their strawman had been constructed, it needed a name. Sadly, it makes sense that they would that they’d choose the most insulting and demeaning name available. It got them the reaction they were after: pain and disgust.

Why do you say familiar, Salmon? I’m glad I asked me that question. For a year or so back in 2001-02 I posted on the yahoo boards, mostly on the one for Coulter’s weekly crapfest. Dodge and Accuse was as common a tactic used by the cons on that board as the bellowing of Murka Hater, traitors, and other slogans that would make Karl Rove glow. (Ick, indeed)

Another point before I close this. How does listing your accomplishments (Newsweek! Thou goest girl!!) do anything to make his case? It smacks of envy in a sense, and would lead the reader to come to one of two conclusions: Either it’s a resume of someone who has become quite s success*, or sheez wunna them thar libtard trubblemaykerz*.

Those of us who subscribe to answer A would let you know that we are legion. We love you for your work, an amazing body devoted to keeping us informed. We love your tenacity, your wit, and decry any and all attempts such as this to insult, falsely accuse and defame you. When surfing the boards on DU your work, and anything pertaining to it are always on my priority list to read, or if I’m unable to, bookmark and K&R them, so others get a chance to see them. Know that you are loved here at DU, and that these petty, empty words written about you were painful to read, just as painful as seeing their effect on you. May these few words of respect, admiration and affection in some way help lessen that hurt.

Her talent and her courageous, compassionate concern separate her from the mediocrity that so pervades our hostage held media today.
