Support for Bush plummeting in the south
http://www.wsfa.com/Global/story.asp?S=5936671

A new poll shows that 60 percent of Alabamians believe the United States is not winning the war in Iraq.

The poll, conducted by the Capital Survey Research Center in Montgomery, indicates that the percentage of Alabamians who strongly approved of Bush's handling of the war dropped from 33 percent in 2004 to 15 percent this year.

8. Utah is a lost cause.....
mostly mormon white bread zombies who would never even entertain the thought of going against their insanely religious beliefs. There's a reason graduates from BYU are so heavily recruited by the FBI and CIA. They're all so squeaky clean in makes you want to vomit. :puke: They're 100% red, white and blue and everything their government says (well, a conservative government, anyway) is just alright with them. There isn't a single original thought among the entire bunch. Zombies.

14. Ironically the rest of the GOP hates and fears Mormons
And while I agree somewhat about the Mormon factor, it's also partly the polarized climate we live in. Before 90's, Utah used to consistently elect Democrats to the Governor's mansion. Idaho, also a big Mormon state elected Frank Church and Cecil Andrus. Before Reagan and to a certain extent Gingrich, these states voted Republican on the top of the ticket for the same reason that the south still voted Democratic. They had been doing so for decades. Down the ticket these states would elect many moderate Republicans and Democrats.

Reagan and Gingrich fueled the conservative backlash in these states and now they elect nutjobs down the ticket like Orrin Hatch and Bill Sali.

5. Every time Bush digs his heels in...
I am glad in a certain way. The more stubborn he gets, the lower he drop in the polls.

13. Some of them *never* will be.
True other places as well. We just have a higher percentage, unfortunately.

Then there are those of us who have been onto him since *before* 2000--so please don't tar us all with the same brush.... ;)
