14. Ha, ha. HA! I just figured out why the media has to act so indignant.
They so rarely give Democrats solid air time but in these two cases, they had no choice but to film both Wellstone's and Mrs. King's services. They did this knowing that both were major Democratic events.

What the Democrats did at these services was natural and expected to normal people. But the media got bested. So know they're working to dilute the Democrat's event by talking it down.

Shame on the media for being such obvious Republican shills.

21. they can't spin the truth
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 07:54 PM by MissWaverly
What can they say, Jimmy is right, he said that if you believe that the civil rights movement has accomplished its purpose just look into the faces of the people on the Gulf Coast. Plus it pisses me off that Tweety and the other pundit puppets have the nerve to bloviate about dems being politically correct, their fearless leaders sat around and let people die through neglect during Katrina and it's aftermath and are now stonewalling on giving up evidence of their neglect, the colossal nerve of these rw pundits that enable their leaders and are always looking for ways to weaken those who would oppose them. I hope that every single one of these fools are put out to pasture when the dems get back in.

32. I didn't hear him talk.
I hadn't realized he had gone that far to point out the obvious racism that still exists. I stopped mingling around Republican groups about two years ago, but, they so regularly use to bring up their opinion that racism did not exist. Good for Jimmy.

42. He had a lot of zingers in his speech
like he said that when he ran for president, Coretta King agreed to support him if he
would assist her from time to time. He said that every time he shook her hand it
gave him 1 million votes. (We know that Bush never courted the Black vote, how did he
carry the South???). Bush could not have looked more uncomfortable, away from the
stage managed photo op, he is completely lost.

He did mention wiretaps but he mentioned in context of the burdens that both Dr. King
and his wife endured but continued to fight for civil rights.

I found President Carter to be a great speaker with much dignity as always and I did not think that he was acting like a political Pat Robertson.

46. I just listened to his book
Our Endangered Values, I read a review which said that GWB and this administration have
set a fire in the man from Georgia. It is so true. He is so different than GWB. If he
made a mistake, he says at the time I was not aware. His criticims are usually reserved
for ideas and not people.

37. Exactly!
Fuck kate o'beirne, too! That's exactly what I was thinking when she was going on about liberals getting a rude awakening to the millions of people watching the coverage and funeral. I would guess those that are offended by anything said by Lowery and Carter weren't huge followers of Mrs. King anyway.

Same ole, same ole outta Sweetie Tweeties's Republican ass-kissing mouth.

The Dems were mean and political theater, the Bush's elogant and "likable."

Oh brother. :eyes:

Guess I'll never watch him again (unless hubby turns it on). This is just STUPID.
