On now (some areas might have already shown it) but it looks very powerful.

1. Thanks for the link
Can't watch the show since I don't get PBS (and I'm at work anyway).

But following the links from the frontline site there is this Nation article which gives a balanced perspective

2. If you have a good internet connection, they always post the video...
...at their website, it usually takes a week or so.

They usually have a high and low bandwidth video, with either RealVideo or Windows MediaPlayer.

Wow, that was an incredible show, I hope you get to see it.

4. Old laptop and 2 computers sharing one dial-up connection
It just can't be done. Times like this I do wish I got PBS, though.

But to get local channels (and PBS) now I'd have to give up the NY and LA channels. The took away the national PBS feed when they started offering local channels.

I love being able to watch prime time from 11pm - 1am though. It fits my schedule better.

5. That sucks, maybe your public Library would get it...
...or at least have a better internet connection?

BTW, there is no actual sex shown, just interviews with trafficked girls and a few hidden (and on non-hidden) camera interviews with the traffickers.

7. Was one of our biggest contractors, Dyncorp mentioned? Did they
bring up this?

TRIBUNE UPDATE
U.S. stalls on human trafficking
Pentagon has yet to ban contractors from using forced labor

By Cam Simpson
Washington Bureau
Published December 27, 2005

WASHINGTON -- Three years ago, President Bush declared that he had "zero tolerance" for trafficking in humans by the government's overseas contractors, and two years ago Congress mandated a similar policy.

But notwithstanding the president's statement and the congressional edict, the Defense Department has yet to adopt a policy to bar human trafficking.

A proposal prohibiting defense contractor involvement in human trafficking for forced prostitution and labor was drafted by the Pentagon last summer, but five defense lobbying groups oppose key provisions and a final policy still appears to be months away, according to those involved and Defense Department records.

The lobbying groups opposing the plan say they're in favor of the idea in principle, but said they believe that implementing key portions of it overseas is unrealistic. They represent thousands of firms, including some of the industry's biggest names, such as DynCorp International and Halliburton subsidiary KBR, both of which have been linked to trafficking-related concerns.

8. No, It fell short of the real bad examples
No children trafficking , no organized governmental trafficking, no forced labor trafficking.
It was focused on low level sex slavery of Moldavian women transported to Istanbul.
There was a police informant that tipped off the trafficker, and they said some cops visited the brothels for favors but that was about it as far as governmental involvement went. Overall, very disappointing but still powerful nonetheless.

10. No, they didn't get that far down the line...
If this was a book on the illegal trafficking of human slaves, this was only Chapter One, with hints at Chapter 2. The show was only an hour, this subject would take 20-30 hours to fully cover the subject, I suspect.

It's amazing how much of this is going on in the non-English speaking world, that the U.S. Press never talks about.
