A question of sociopathy and Katrina
I want to know if this is sociopathic behavior. The situation is still bothering the hell out of me.

A major American city has just been hit with a major disaster. Thousands are dead or dying. A great many of them are of an economic and racial I you think beneath me. My response, while droves of human beings are suffering is severalfold.

1) I strum a guitar at a music photo-op while people are dying then

2) I eat some cake at a party while people are starving to death.

3) I repeatedly slap my inept director of FEMA, Brownie, on the back and tell him he is doing a good job...just like a real cowboy might do.

4) After some areas have been cleaned up a little, I stage a totally bogus photo-op on live TV to boost my political standing by pretending I care about victims.

5) I use every resource I have to keep supplies out of the city and people trapped in the city so that I can have something to blame on the state's democratic governor and score more political points.

6) Months later, I get my whore media to downplay the fact that I am kicking people with no homes and no livelyhoods out of the lodgings they do have so I can be sure to fund my oil war for my Halliburton buddies.

All this in the midst of suffering most of us will never have leave to comprehend. Is this the behavior of a sane person, or of a sociopath?

1. "Bush on the Couch" is recommended reading.
It was written before Katrina, but goes into many of the behaviors you speak of.

9. It is actually pretty interesting.
I enjoy reading about psychology and sociology. It goes into his sister's death when he was young, his alcoholism, and his blowing up frogs with firecrackers. Pretty much labels him as a megalomaniac. The guy who wrote it is a phychoanalyst.

3. you left out "I peer down from my imperial airship hundreds of feet
above the suffering and have my royal photographer and propagandist on hand to release the photo op to the sniveling masses"

you forgot that part. I think it comes in between step 2 and 3

6. And then he tries to shift blame
to the Red Cross and Salvation Army --- and some Progressives actually buy it and make it part of their meme.

(I spent my Christmas Eve working with a newly homeless, Section 8, Katrina survivor family - so attack me).

8. he didn't strum the guitar, he asked him to show him a cord, he fretted the
cord and turned to the photographers and got a photo opp and gave the guitar back.

he does this shit all the time from day one.. the water giveaway at NOLA was just that, they got a picture within 2 minutes and were gone, and took the water with them to prevent the Blacks from rioting.
