The United States-appointed Iraqi Governing Council has chosen a new national flag and coat-of-arms. According to recent news reports the flag is not accepted by the majority of the Iraqis.

they rejected the new flag and went back to using the old flag - except for the arabic script which they did in a different font (because it was originally based on Saddam's handwriting).

on edit: although have just looked at a website that sells flags and they're still selling the Saddam-era flag as the Iraqi flag.

4. Yea, unfortunate choice of color scheme too, dontcha think?

And like any other absurdity or failure, shrubco lets it slide and then pretends it never existed, like Karl Rove being named head of NOLA reconstruction efforts.
