Another dead Vermonter....
A Vermont father was on our local news tonight, quietly leading a reporter toward the bookcase where his dead son`s photos are. That`s all that`s left of his son now....photos, thirty-two years of memories and "a hole that will never be filled."

Spc. Christopher Merchant, the latest Vermont National Guardsman killed in Iraq, was struck by rocket-propelled grenades as he sat in his Humvee in Ramadi. His wife and four children live a few minutes from here in a rural village that knows both service and sacrifice. The grief in Mr. Merchant`s face was a painful reminder of the holes all over this country that will never be filled. Lives lost, lives forever changed.

I can not express my feelings toward Bush and Cheney tonight. Lies about WMDs. Lies about a connection to September 11th. Lies about bouquets of flowers and cakewalks. Lies about oil revenues. All this from a fake, AWOL Freedom-Fighter and a five deferment quail hunter. Hope they enjoy their extended vacations, room service and round-the-clock protection. The four fatherless Merchant children will have to learn to do with a whole lot less.

2. From my earlier post.
My Tiny Town In Vermont Has Lost ANOTHER Soldier In Iraq.

This is a tiny place, about 3,000 people in the entire township. This is the 2nd soldier killed in Iraq within the last 3 months. We lost a 3rd (actually he lived just over the line in another town) last year.
Christopher Merchant had four children between the ages of 8 and 14. He was married.

He died yesterday in Ramadi. Full body armor is no defense against a direct hit from an RPG He was 32 years old.

Christopher Merchant is the 22nd Vermont Guardsman to die in Iraq. Others, from our state, in the regular forces, have also lost their lives their.

Enormous burden for a small state. We have the highest per capita death toll in this obscene war.

My heart is heavy today.

3. All of the trees in the Green Mtns....
of Vermont are weeping for another fallen Ethan Allen Boy, and we will not soon forget, what this administration has forced upon us to endure in their quest for domination and submission. That is SOooo against what we Vermonters believe in our hearts and souls, and the tears from our trees will start the flood that will flow down the valleys and into the cities...SCREAMING..ENOUGH ENOUGH..we can give no more!
