Secretary Rumsfeld, where's the plan?

Over just the past 12 days, more than 500 Iraqis have been tragically killed in Shia/Sunni violence in Iraq -- in the wake of the February 22nd bombing of the Askariya shrine in Samarra, a holy place for Shia Muslims.

Our brave men and women in uniform remain in harm's way, caught in the middle of an increasingly violent religious conflict -- and the situation is in real danger of spiraling into a full-scale civil war.

This is progress?

You and I and millions of Americans have demanded an exit strategy, which the Bush Administration has still refused to produce. At a minimum, we've demanded a real timetable with concrete, measurable milestones so we can measure our progress towards withdrawing American troops.

Now, with full-scale civil war a real possibility, the Bush Administration must do more -- and quickly. President Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld can't continue to bury their heads in the sand about the rapidly deteriorating security situation in Iraq. It's time for them to wake up to the facts and plan for the worst: how to get our troops out from the middle of a potential civil war.

That's why I recently wrote to Secretary Rumsfeld, urging him to produce a plan for the worst-case scenario of full-scale civil war in Iraq -- and to share that plan with Congress. And I've begun circulating an online petition, which I'll personally be delivering across the Potomac River to the Pentagon this week.

More than 31,000 Americans have already signed my petition, and I want your name on it as well before I take it to the Pentagon.

Please sign my petition to Secretary Rumsfeld now!

1. Hey Barbara:
Why don't you introduce legislation to end the funding for this clusterfuck.

You and congress vote to give this cretin money to do the things you so decry.

Get with it

2. Boxer is a Senator
Under the Constitution, spending bills have to start in the House.

3. good point
maybe then, a good start, would be for her not to vote for the bill for funding when it comes from the House for approval?

4. I respect Barbara hugely but,...this petition is useless because,...
,...the BushCO/neoconster regime doesn't give a shit. Moreover, they will NEVER produce a withdrawal plan because they intend to establish a permanent U.S. military presence.

Personally, I'd like to establish a means, any creative means possible, of prosecuting these fockers ASAP,...BEFORE they expand this war.

5. If the House was doing it's job
Rumsfailed would have been Impeached and sent packing already.

Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also prosecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

The US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA.
