"Heckuva job" Griles=Coal Mining Disaster-Read this if you want the truth
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 09:11 AM by stop the bleeding
Here is a link to a DU thread that gives a little history on a "fella" named Steven Griles. Please go to this thread I am not the author, I have tried to kick it and it seems to be falling on deaf ears. Also I have not noticed this information anywhere else, maybe I have overlooked another thread, but I felt that this information is too "impordant" to be overlooked.

Here is the link:
Meet James Steven Griles - former Deputy Secretary of Interior - posted by: LSK

Jeeze I had to add this link in on edit - not directly about Griles but surely ties in.

NYT: "Coal's Power Over Politicians" - Fight Bush for stronger unions! - posted by: Nothing Without Hope

Let me know what you all think...

1. Griles is such a typical Bush Administration cog - 100% for the greedy
corporate cronies no matter what. Thanks for ppinting this out. It all DOES fit together.

10. Thanks for collecting this together
I missed these threads too. It seems like the issue of unionization is being forgotten both here & in the media. For all the media coverage, no one would talk about the lack of unions as a factor in this disaster. A miner's son had to finally bring up the problem on the Today show.

Oh, well you're just a tinfoil hatter to say ** has anything to do with this, you know. I mean, allowing avowed anti-environmentalist greedy scumsucking pigs to help run the Department of the Interior won't have any negative consequences, will it?

And allowing states to relax any and all safeguards for miners and locals won't hurt anybody, right?

Cause and effect is a tinfoiler's domain. "Rational" people don't see any cause and effect because gee, that is just too CHILDISH and unrealistic! :sarcasm:

THAT'S why these threads aren't of interest to the "grownups." ;)

12. Nothing "tinfoilhat" about this. This is the way Washington works
The foxes are left to guard the henhouse. Then they rejoin the private sector, peddling their government influence to corporations. It happens all the time.

13. Griles
actually wrote legislation while a lobbyist. Not as unusual as the uninitiated might think. A sinister bastard of the highest order.
