LIAR- Bush DID meet with Abramoff
LIAR- Bush DID meet with Abramoff after A bought him a meeting
(1/6/2006 4:19:21 PM)-- by: bippsie Comments (0)

Four months after he took the oath of office in 2001, President George W. Bush was the attraction, and the White House the venue, for a fundraiser organized by the alleged perpetrator of the largest billing fraud in the history of corporate lobbying. In May 2001, Jack Abramoff’s lobbying client book was worth $4.1 million in annual billing for the Greenberg Traurig law firm. He was a friend of Bush advisor Karl Rove. He was a Bush “Pioneer,” delivering at least $100,000 in bundled contributions to the 2000 campaign. He had just concluded his work on the Bush Transition Team as an advisor to the Department of the Interior. He had sent his personal assistant Susan Ralston to the White House to work as Rove’s personal assistant. He was a close friend, advisor, and high-dollar fundraiser for the most powerful man in Congress, Tom DeLay. Abramoff was so closely tied to the Bush Administration that he could, and did, charge two of his clients $25,000 for a White House lunch date and a meeting with the President. From the same two clients he took to the White House in May 2001, Abramoff also obtained $2.5 million in contributions for a non-profit foundation he and his wife operated.

5. We may be more naive than some states to have voted for these bastards
but I don't believe Texas has corner on liars.

Cheney, Frist, Gingrich, Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Cunningham, Doolittle, Ney, Taft . . . .

Need I go on?

None of these liars are from Texas.

Oh, by the way. Neither is Bush except lately.

12. Most people from Texas are good people.
He is an exception.

I am a Californian, transplanted from Pennsylvania. I have spent alot of time in Texas, though.

They really are a very decent people. And that is coming from one still stinging over that Rose Bowl game.

No doubt in my mind, USC should have won.

14. I don't think B*sh was properly elected either,
I'll tell you something, you go to Austin - and they are of the same mind as us here in LA.

The difference I think is, if your car breaks down there in Texas those people are probably going to help you. You break down in LA, you take your life in your hands.

The problem isn't the state - Maybe some are not as astute in politics as in CA, but they are a very friendly and decent people. They are the people we need back in our party.

I think this has to happen, and I think it is happening.

19. I thought about it, it is that term- "religious right"
It is just wrong - you know. I do believe it is an illusion.

While I am sure there is some group of fanatics that make up this "religious right" I am equally sure they represent nothing more than a fringe.

I am a christian, a fair catholic. I do believe in spirituality.

And I am telling you for a fact - the only gospel that counts here says you treat others as your brother. I know there are many better christians that may phrase this better. If you really are christian - it is the way you live your life.

I tell you, most of us DO believe this.

I know.

And I think these SOBs will know soon, too. And I think they will not be headed for heaven in the end, either.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I give Texas the same. I know them to be good people, and I am certain they will prove this out.

23. I've lived here for over a decade
the vast majority are arrogant and ignorant and only want to screw the next individual...either out of greed or ignorance...fortunately, I know a few who won't.

Texas is currently the most corrupt state in this Union...

24. I have broken down on the 405 and broken down on the 410 loop
Consequently, I think a lot of the people there.

Maybe I am just jaded, living in L.A. - but I think Texas has good people.

Good and bad people everywhere. But if I was in trouble, I'd sure rather live in Austin.

Same in Houston or San Antonio.

Funny, but I think if you lived in California you'd say they were the most corrupt state.

Only goes to prove - all politicians are corrupt. This guy in the WH just takes it to a new level.

I formally forgive U of T for stealing the game from USC. But we know USC was really the best team, too.

Hmm...Ralston goes to Rove. Maybe she was really good at election math and helped them fix tings up 11/2/04 to make it "real."

This thread is one more reason to buy your ring side seat for the finale.
