Anyone game to analyze this drawing I found on the 'net?
It's surely saying something about the mental state of some returning Iraq veterans, but I can't decide just what. It's a little disturbing, anyway. What's going on here?

2. Eventhough the title says "Cloochy & the Lieutenant"
Edited on Sat Mar-25-06 08:00 PM by Gman
Cloochy appears to be a PFC, the guy screaming is a sargeant. That leaves the dead deer, in color to be the lieutenant. Cloochy and the sarge are dressed in green. The deer is a natural brown and the blood and the writing are in red. Everything else is gray and white. Some guy named Brandon Doty drew it.

Cloochy has some deepseated resentment. Could Brandon be in a wheelchair too because of something his lieutantant told him to do?

5. The flags on their uniforms are red, white and blue --
They stand out against the grey uniforms.

3. Well, the Sgt. is drawn villain-like
Edited on Sat Mar-25-06 08:02 PM by alphafemale
Cloochy looks paralyzed, with limited use of the arms and hands. His right fingers on a button.

Bringing down that big of a stag with a little pistol would be quite an accomplishment for anyone, let alone a cross-eyed quad.

I don't get it either.

There's probably some inside joke here that the artist is sharing with friends.

Edit. Sgt not Lt

4. Okay... with the disclaimer that I am just using intuition...
The veteran who is now in the chair shot an innocent and was further traumatized by his CO. The dear is drawn as an innocent - position of the legs, rounded nose, bright read blood but otherwise clean, closed eye. The soldier was doing his job - shooting Iraqis; just as a hunter does his job - shooting deer.

From a slightly different angle: If in a dream we are all of the characters, then the person who drew this picture may have been all of the characters: the innocent, the wounded soldier, the system that demands killing and then turns on those who have killed.

Oh my...

6. Your intuition seems pretty sharp to me.
And yeah, that guy looks like a sergeant, not a lieutenant.

10. Maybe it's a Sgt. Carter-ish character from Gomer Pyle?
"Cloooochy!!" is like "Pyle!!"

The first words that came to mind were "The Manchurian Candidate." He's worried that he was turned into a killing machine.

8. Using Google
I found:

http://www.wc-aces.com/wcat3k/tigerhnt.txt

Preface: I did not read the link but near the end reads:

"Doc Forrester signals the satellite. “Uh oh, Cloochy and the Lieutenant are calling.”

Doc Forrester smiles evilly. “Australia is training all of its nuclear
weapons on you as we speak. Any last words?”"

I just wonder what the six spikes (?) behind the dead buck, the black hole, and the skid marks represent?

14. The lyrics on the site are taken from MST3K
I can almost recall the "Kloochy" reference, but not quite. Some lousy 70's sitcom or made-for-tv movie.

Maybe it will come to me in a minute.
