Laura Bush & Chapaquedik, where can I get the detailed stories
on both?

In conversation last night, the comment was made....I'd rather be driving with Bush, then with Teddy Kennedy. Which started a firestorm from me asking about Laura Bush and ending with the thousands killed in Iraq. They kept saying "did Laura walk away from the accident letting somebody die?" I honestly don't know. Of course I was somewhat sneered at when I mentioned the thousands (did I say mentioned, I should say proclaimed loudly), of people dieing in Iraq because of a war based on lies.

1. To say nothing of the fact
that all the killing, maiming, and money spent has not done a single thing toward "changing ideology" even IF this were a noble cause...which, of course, it isn't.

2. From Snopes

Claim: While a teenager, future First Lady Laura Bush caused the death of a classmate in a car accident.

Status: True.

Examples:

I heard at a party last Saturday that Laura Bush, at age 17, ran a stop sign and crashed into another car, killing a 17-year-old classmate.

I heard a rumor this past weekend concerning our First Lady, Laura Bush, to the effect that she committed manslaughter at one time by backing over her boyfriend with her car.

Origins: Driving is one of the most dangerous activities we engage in, and most of us do it every day, little realizing the peril of it. Every year in the U.S. there are approximately 6.5 million traffic accidents, resulting in about 42,000 fatalities.

This is the story of one of those accidents. It resulted in the death of someone you've never heard of, at the hands of someone you have.

In May 2000, a two-page police report pertaining to a fatal accident that had taken place near Midland, Texas, in 1963 was made public. It Laura Bush contained the information that 17-year-old Laura Welch had run a stop sign, causing the death of the sole occupant of the vehicle hers had struck. According to that report, the future First Lady had been driving her Chevrolet sedan on a clear night shortly after 8 p.m. on 6 November 1963 when she entered an intersection without heeding the stop sign and there collided with the Corvair sedan driven by 17-year-old Michael Douglas. Also in the car with Laura Welch was a passenger, 17-year-old Judy Dykes.

How fast Miss Welch might have been driving is open to question. That part of the police report is illegible, although two biographies of the First Lady refer to her as having been going 50 mph at the time of the collision. The speed limit on that portion of road was 55 mph. According to the police report neither driver had been drinking, but no tests were performed. No charges were filed as a result of the accident.

snip........

There has always been speculation about the nature of his relationship with Laura Welch. One rumor asserts the two had never dated, but that Laura had been romantically interested in him. Another claims he had been Laura's boyfriend when he died, and another that he had once been her boyfriend but the couple had subsequently broken up. (The latter theory is advanced in the 2002 biography of the Bushes, George and Laura: Portrait of an American Marriage, which states Laura Welch and Michael Douglas had dated throughout early and mid-1963, but by the fall of that year Michael was going out with Regan Gammon, one of Miss Welch's closest friends.)

3. Why bother getting into it with someone who would say something so dumb?
I find it best to make a simple statement ending the conversation and moving on. Something like, "I find that comment offensive. Please end it or I will leave."

Or, I say something such as "Nothing like using an emotions and deliberately slanted comment to avoid having to deal with the current issues that is happening to this country."

Or, I have simply said "That is offensive and full of ridiculous innuendos meant to start a fight." And then I simply walk away.

By continuing, you are allowing yourself to be pulled into their circular nonsense.

6. Oh please...
"The Group hired several men and at least one woman to be at Chappaquiddick during the weekend of the yacht race and the planned party on the island. They ambushed Ted and Mary Jo after they left the cottage and knocked Ted out with blows to his head and body. They took the unconscious or semi-conscious Kennedy to Martha's Vineyard and deposited him in his hotel room. Another group took Mary Jo to the bridge in Ted's car, force fed her with a knock out potion of alcoholic beverage, placed her in the back seat, and caused the car to accelerate off the side of the bridge into the water. They broke the windows on one side of the car to insure the entry of water; then they watched the car until they were sure Mary Jo would not escape. "

from one of the links...LOL

Camelot Mythology...I'll wait for the movie

7. You thing the scenario is impossible?
I think it is very possible and explains a lot. This sort of thugs can do whatever they want. Mary Jo was not a drinker. Everyone at the party said she didn't drink. So, how did all that alcohol get into her blood?

Why were John and Robert killed?

And, can you imagine what the press and the CON slime machine would have done to Hillary if she had been the one who killed her boyfriend in a car accident?

They have the power to slime and destroy anyone who gets in their way. There is nothing, including murder, that they can't and won't do.

8. Oh come on...
Jeez if the Control Power Group had Kennedy...why knock him out? Why not put him the car along with Mary Jo??? :eyes:

Sorry Oakham's Razor again...

These whole series of speculative fictions, from assassination to JoJo 'global hawk' crap, besides being a lucrative cottage industry for 'baby boomers' are really derived from the faulty thesis that the Kennedy clan somehow posed some 'threat' or were a 'danger' to the US ruling classes?

Yeah...we'll cross the River Jordan when an corrupt Irish bootlegger's arrogant rich-kid sons become President...

Mind you I do think that some speedfreak, balling Hollywood bimbos, with his finger on the button did actually pose a danger, but I don't think the Bushes ever lost sleep over it.

LOL
