Post on blog scandal: 'F****in disaster'
The (brief) life and (quick) death of a blog
Red America came and went in less than a week.

Washingtonpost.com hired GOP operative Ben Domenech, a 24-year-old wonder boy with virtually no journalism background, to add an explicitly conservative voice to its stable of blogs. Domenech made his first post Monday and immediately came under fire from liberal bloggers, outraged that the Post would create a Red America blog but not one for Blue America.

But that’s not what ended Domenech’s short-lived stint in the mainstream media. (By the way, I loved how he used his gig in the MSM to attack the MSM for ignoring conservatives.) It turns out there were strong indications that he was a serial plagiarizer. He resigned today, and Post officials said he would have been fired had he not resigned.

It just happens that former Pioneer Press editor Deborah Howell, now the Post’s ombudsman, was in our newsroom today for a Q&A session on journalism topics. I asked her about the Domenech affair.

Her reply: “I can’t defend it. It’s a f****in’ disaster.”

4. Probably short-lived victory
Since WP seems hellbent on adding a 'wingnut' blogger.

We need to battle like the righties to get our voices heard.

Last week was a helluva victory - but we have to continue in the next battle and not let up on the WPost until at least our side has a represenative blog and not accept the excuse that the wingnut is to balance out their journalists.

It's so damn sickening that this seems the modus operandi of the MSM and that that right has them so damn cowed. The pundit shows are the worst example where they trot out wingnut after wingnut and we're supposedly represented by the journalist sitting on the panel!

But not on the WP blog because foul language is not welcome there, right?

5. I hear that there's a waiting list for all the talking-head shows
the waiting list for all the right-wingers who want to appear on all the talk shows so that they can talk about how they have no venue in the MSM to talk about conservatism . . . the MSM is doing their best to get through the millions, but it's like the line of all the people in China filing by, two-by-two . . . the line would never end, and people conceived in the line would be old enough to go on the talk shows by the time their parents get to the front of the line . . .
